doc diesel's shop always somes up kapag calibration na ang pinaguusapan... first diesel mo ba ito? do you keep your revs low (2000 -2500), diyan kasi yata ang max torque ng pajero... diyan sa range na optimal ang fuel consumption... pero I'll leave it to the pajero experts to say...

my gen 1 (4d56T) does about 7-7.5km/liter city and about 9-10km/liter on the highway. the gen 2.5 (4m40) halos ganon din. mas matipid lang ng konti.

gas consumption really depends on how our right foot behaves. hehe

I was doing 7-9 km/L on 31" A/T tires. Siguro a little bit less now that I'm on 33" muds.

I'm doing 7 km/l city driving. What is your tire pressure? Handbook indicates 28 psi. Pump it up to 32 psi will give you better mileage but a harder ride.

Problema ko rin yung gas ng Pajero ko, 5-6kms/L ako pag city driving pero pag out of town 6-7kms/L lang siya. Its a 2.8L na Field Master. Normal lang ba yan guys?

I have 1 before and I think its about right. Hindi matipid sa diesel ang 2.8 fieldmaster. Now I'm enjoying my new drive.

here's the fuel consumption for my 94 lancer glxi 1.6

before finding out that my gas tank/fuel pump motor housing had tiny cracks

    city driving - 5 kms/L
    highway - 7kms/L

after fixing the crack in my gas tank; replaced fuel pump motor, housing, gas tank hose:

    city driving - 8 to 8.5 kms/L
    highway - 9.5 to 10kms/L (avg speed 80kms/hr; max of 120kms/hr)

Goodday Sir. marami akong nakakausap tungkol sa Mitsubishi Pajero and yours is not the first case of complaints regarding consumption. You need to have it calibrated in order to make it efficient and if necessary po change nyo na rin po ang injectors. Medyo magastus po pero it will ensure you of a good efficiency, also notable po kasi ay ang pagiging turbo ng mga imported models, needless to say that this is rather powerful and sips gas more. Mabigat din po and pajero kaya dont be surprised.
It is also true regarding revs of the engine sir, kasi po ang diesel operates and peaks at lower rpm, I do suggest to make use of this by shifting on higher gears when traveling on highway to get more milage. Get this done and see the results po....

    2001 Lancer GSR 1.6.

Pasensya nalang.

I usually run 28 to soften the ride up. The cranked t-bars stiffen up the ride quite a bit.
