Good day. Nabasa ko lang sa Wikipedia 4 days ago about the L300 Versa Van, na natigil na yun production nito. The Versa Van released in 1987 and ended in 2011. Yun FB still on sale pa rin kahit nag labas sila ng bagong L200 FB. Sobrang tagal nitong modelong ito pero matibay at maaasahan. Mga fellow Tsikot, do you know anything kung bakit? Or malalabas sila ng bagong modelo? Tapos sabi ng friend ko wrong move yun ginawa ng Mitsubishi. Know anything?

The last time I saw the new facelifted L300 Versa Van was the early part of 2012. I'm sure the reason they discontinued it is bec. demand fell below their production minimum. Adventure, Innova, Crosswind, Urvan , etc.. have all eaten into its market share.

L300 cab chassis, FB will continue to be production bec. these are Mitsubishi's bread and butter.

OTOH, L200 cab chassis, FB has a significant price premium over L300 but with only incremental improvement that is hardly justifiable for the L300 market (ie. fleet delivery, etc...).

I'm not aware if Mitsubishi has designed a L300 successor.

MMPC should consider producing a cab chassis using the Delica/Exceed body, since it is more modern and ergonomic than the current L300.

If not, the facelifted L300 is good for another 15 yrs before the next facelift!

Same here pero 1983 ako pinanganak. First time ko sumakay sa L300 six years old. Akyat kami ng Baguio family, memorable. L300 gas wala Diesel tapos yun aircon nasa likod ng passenger seat (ref style).

I think almost everyone has rode in or drove a L300. It really is a workhorse. Whoever designed it should be put into Mitsubishi's hall of fame.

The locally sold Hyundai Porter is based on the Exceed platform. It was later replaced by the H100

Grabe, tagal rin nitong L300. Adios.

Well, I guess its about time na rin. The Nissan Urvan is the new (rather old) kid on the block. Siya naman ang sikat ngayon, so we will be seeing it beyond 2020.

Pansin ko lang it was introduced in the Aquino (Cory) administration tas it ended sa isang Aquino administration (Noynoy)

Bro napansin ko rin, agreed ako dyan. Parang nag sona si noynoy na "itigil na ang pag produce ng L300 VV dito sa Pinas at mag labas kayo ng bagong modelo nito". But still this vehicle is legendary.

When it was launched in 1987, the wait list stretched for a year or more! As in today, back then you would need "connections" on the inside in order to jump the queue.

Landmark Makati was raffling off these L300 Versa Van starting in 1989.

The biggest weakness of this model is its aircon system. The ref style of early models did not provide quick cooling on hot days (our '88 L300 VV). The aircon compressor is located quite low on the chassis so if you like flood fording during typhoon season, this will surely conk out. It conked out on our Local Exceed (98 Japan CBU) and L300 '99 VV.

The Versa Van maybe gone. But the L300 face will continue to live on through the FB and delivery vans.

Pahirapan nga makakuha ng L300 VV back in the day, my parents used their "connections" kaya we got ours in 1 month (1988). Dati kasi wala rin ibang choice if you're in the market for a van, the only other van in the market back then was the "chopchop" surplus Toyota Town Ace. Actually 3 yung naging L300 namin, 88 and 94 Diesel VV and 89 Aluminum van (gas) pero di masyado tumagal sa amin yung mga L3 namin. Yung gas na VV namin was sold after 3 years kasi di na mapatino yung A/C saka lakas na mag overheat towards the end. Yung Aluminum Van naman mga 5 years yata sa amin, nabenta naman yun dahil malakas na sa gas saka we needed something bigger kaya napalitan yun ng Elf. Yung 94 Diesel VV naman mga 4 years lang sa amin, yung A/C din ang naging problema nun saka saksakan ng init yung singaw ng makina nun, nung huli wala na gusto gumamit nun, mas gusto kasi gamitin ng mga tao sa amin yung 95 Hiace Commuter namin at that time kaya binenta na lang tapos pinalitan ng isa pang Hiace.

We had the 1988 model. Engine was the 1.8L with the aircon unit behind the passenger seat. Instant roasted yagbols pag sakay sa front seats. :D Laging iwan pa yung n/a 4D56 1986 Pajero namin pag paakyat ng Baguio. Definitely had a lot of fond childhood memories with the L300 VV.
