September 25th, 2008 02:01 PM #1Hi all,
I bought a 2nd hand lancer GL '99 i wonder what is the engine,
is it 1500cc or 1300cc? what should be it's km/L?
Carburetor po ito right? It has headers and muffler,
does it increase gas consumption as well?
Thank you

naka aftermarket headers and mufflers na ba nung nakuha mo? it may add up some gas consumption but not too significant, probably around a half a liter to a liter more per kilometer.
if this bothers you, then have it back to stock. pero, sa akin, personally, ok lang yan. it gives you some power. the Lancer GL kasi is a bit underpowered kung stock. probably that is the reason why the previous owner had that converted.

September 25th, 2008 04:34 PM #6thank you again.
Currently, I am very much bothered about my gas consumption
After the tune up, I noticed that the engine became more powerful. Another question though, how would I know if the car idling setting is at the right level? The shop (who tuned up the car) also told me to observe the performance if I want it that way or maybe tone it down a bit. It seems that currently I am at 6~7km/L just going back and forth Binondo and Taguig Global City (light to medium traffic). The shop mentioned to me they can adjust it lower and look into the spark plugs.
Plus, I also am not yet an efficient driver so maybe the starts and stops contribute to my high gas consumption.
I'm happy with the tune up but a bit disappointed with the high gas consumption compare to the condition when it was acquired.
thanks for the enlightening advice.
Choice I would have made as well.
