nung kinabit ko yan last 2006 ang tawag lang namin dyan ay 3 pcs. chin, hiwa-hiwalay kasi yan, naka bolt on yun left and right then salpak yung nasa center sa kanilang dalawa..ang hirap gamitin nyan pag naka lowerred ka, kasi sasayad yung nasa gitna, madali pa namang makalas, or pag may baha, pero maporma naman talaga, wag mo ngalang isasagad ang bagsak.

Hi to all Pizza lovers.
New owner po ako ng '97 lancer (pizza), also my first car
I took time to read this thread, and I learned a lot, pero medyo napag-isip ako kung anung klase ung pizza nabili ko. Pano ko po ba malalaman kung glxi or el or kung anu man ung nabili ko? un po kseng ksama kong mechanic is a reliable mechanic but i don't think he's familiar with the specific model or series of cars. wala na rin ung parang mga emblem sa rear. I don't have photos yet but these are the specs I know:
- M/T
- all power
- speed sensor is electronic (akala ko kase un ang sira ng speedometer eh kya nalaman kong di sya cable type)
- odometer is digital
- sbi ng dealer na nabilan ko, fuel injected na daw & 1.7L or 1.8L yata ung sinabi, but I also don't know how to confirm that.
sa papers kse '97 model lang nakalagay eh.
TIA.

August 27th, 2009 04:23 AM #546Your description fits most closely to a GLXi model.
The GLXi model is a 1600cc (1.6L) fuel injected model. The GLXi is the only fuel injected variant lancer model of 1997 (wala pang GSR nung time na iyan). The Other models were the EL (1.3L carburator) and the GL (1.5L carburator). Also, the GLXi was the only one which came out with factory standard power locks and power windows. You can check the engine displacement written on the certificate of registration. It should say 1600cc.
I presume your speedometer is not working, based on your description... please check your spark plugs. Have your mechanic remove them and take a look at the model number. The spark plug should have a letter "R" somewhere in the model number (like at the end, or in the middle"). If it doesnt have a letter "R", the spark plug is not resistorized and it will create static which disables the speedometer and odometer from properly functioning. Just change into resistorized spark plugs and they will probably work.

August 28th, 2009 07:42 AM #549mga sir magandang umaga!
im planning to buy a lancer 97 el 1.3 carb engine/ stock sya and hindi power steering, medyo ok naman ung price.... kaso may lancer na gl na binibenta sakin stock din 20k lang ung diffrence?
sa experience ninyo w/c is better ung efi or carb? with regards to FC and maintenance, ive heard kc na medyo magstos ung efi kc sa mga sensors/electronic parts?

Be careful with channels like "China Observer" on YouTube. There is a clear bias in their posts and...
