water-based aerosols can short out electrical parts. it's like spraying your engine bay with water.

but why would you want to spray baygon sa engine bay? if you have pest problems, just cook them away when you drive off.

but yes, the paint can take it. and i think you should keep the cowl oopen so's to air the bay..
