we had a 93 gen 1 pajero turbo. Nice truck. goes up tp 135 kph brand new. when it was sold with 175tkm its top speed was 130kph na lang. The Pajero turbo models never felt slow. its steering and handing was precise for an SUV. I liked driving it over our gen 2.5.
Its boxy design make you feel tough and macho when u drive it.
Its ride is medyo matigas similar to a revo. The front seats can be remedied by adjusting its under seat suspension to match your weight. Another remedy is highway biased tires.

Engine is prone to usok unless you have it calibrated every 50,000 km more or less.

Glass windshield seals should be inspected for leaks just to be sure its free from factory problems.

Over all its a great truck.very tough, good to drive, easy to repair. and very reliable. We kept it til the mileage was 175t.

sold ours 2 years ago for 375t

Old thread but gusto ko lang mag add hehe.

I have a Gen 1 Pajero, 3 door, locally assembled. Lahat ng sinabi sa thread na 'to about a Pajero is true.

But all in all, I love this rig.

para sakin classic po ang gen1...

never na malalaos.. specially sa pilipinas
do you remember nung late 80s early 90s..??

everyone was pajero crazy...hehe naaalala ko padi pedicab and tricycles.. had pajero letterings... dami panga noon parehos..

kris had a pajero robin padilla also had one.. status symbol sobra ito during those times...

hindi naman gen2 or gen3 ang nagpasikat sa pajero... it was the gen1..

    pros:
very nice po to be used to the office.. or outing.. laki ng cargo space...
can seat 7 comfortably.. all facing front..
tried and tested na ang makina.. mapa n/a or turbo

    cons:
    makalampag..

    +1 here

I have a gen 1 3-door thats 20 years old. Di pa rin ako nag-sasawa. Uber reliable. Iba talaga ang mitsu when it comes to SUVs. I was contemplating whether to get a Sta. Fe this year as a third car but I keep asking myself , 20 years from now hmmmm . . . (sabay tingin sa gen 1) huwag nalang . I've decided that a Strada will be my third car.

I want to buy a Pajero Gen1 myself. anybody who can tell me how much is the fuel consumption both for diesel and gas?

Which is better nga pala gas or diesel, manual or automatic?

Is the Hyundai Galloper the same as the Pajero?

    Thanks in advance.

even with the latest model mitsubishi diesel are mostly powered by the ever reliable 4d56 engine, so part wise, you can have anything you want brand new.

very reliable in out of town trips.

Got mine 7 months ago, a 23 year old rig, tdic, got submerged by ondoy, no encountered problems yet, so far.

and they are right, a pajero is a pajero!

Hello, This is my first post here. Iam thinking of buying a 2nd hand gen 1 Pajero. I figure that since I wanted to have a 4x4 that's not expensive and I have prior experience with maintaining the Mitaubishi 4d56 engine since I previously owned an Adventure, a 1st gen Pajero will be great. My question is, how much would the current price be? And any advices about this particular SUV. Thanks!

    Hello guys,
just registered as i am planning to get a Gen1 pajero.
My prospect is a 1991 LWB 5 dr; 4x4; 2.0 Gas manual tranny, flatroof Pajero.

    Need inputs please.
    1. I think this is the smallest engine on 1st Gen Pajero, anybody has experience with this engine? If ever na puno kme like 7 adults, is it a capable SUV umakyat ng Kenon road (with all the zigzag paakyat matarik)? Ofcourse considering na condition naman engine.
Is this accurate na meron talagang model na may second aircon as stock?
    3. Kaya ba netong mag tow ng oto, let say papa customize akong flatbed to carry my vintage car. kaya kaya going to let say SUbic for an event (hindi hirap)?

Maraming salamat po sa mga replies ninyo!
    Lester

...recently had the opportunity to drive one...
parang tigas ng owner jeep ang suspension.. on stilts!
but yes, basic... designed to last forever..
the gen 1 stirs my want-to-own-it, better than the subsequent models.
