2. Read through the tons of advice, horror stories, tips and such.
3. Decide whether you still want to buy...

Malaking debate dito sa tsikot kung magandang bumili ng mga Subic na Pajero, and it's never ending. For every horror story, there's a success story. If you really want to buy one of these things, you should bring along a very VERY good mechanic to check the unit you want to buy. Find other people who've bought and ask for test-rides so you know what you're getting.
