Project Auction Pajero - Feasible?

Will a budget of Php 350k be enough for an ex-JDM Pajero SWB hardtop with a 4d56 engine and any repairs that may be necessary to correct the conversion?

I just need some inputs from you guys esp. those that have ex-JDM shorties.

Remember, the 'pre-owned help' thread I posted in car-talk? Sabi ko no ex-JDM sana. Pero I think the rules can be bent a bit. :D

I contacted Joseph and he said that it sounds feasible enough but we have to go and purchase directly from auction.

San ba ang mga auctions dito? Kelan ang auction dates? United Auctioneers ang recommended niya.

word of advice bro: if ever, check the actual Locator Warehouse Owners mismo.. they have their own importations and most of the time, these locators have their best units for them to sell / keep for themselves. (Quality over Quantity). United Auctioneers is an example of a Locator.

some of these Locators in Subic can be located at the Industrial Park.

nowadays, malabo ngayon ang mga bagong parating kasi sobrang mahal na imposed duties and taxes. around 500K.. that's why some Locators are just selling off their remaining stock.

I might check out united since recommended ni Joseph. My father also knows a locator kaso hindi pa namin masigurado kung nag-stock ng Pajero since puro LC80 dati.

otep: kaya siguro sa 350K but of course depende kung gaano mo kaayos gusto yung oto. Sa AIM original na gearbox gamit nila tapos yung unit na nakuha ko tumatakbo pa a/c. may freon pa Kung palit orig dash, timing belt,tensioner,water pump, underchassis (the works) then baka bitin. Yung sa akin I spent more than 10K to have the underchassis fixed (new shocks, ball joints, etc) para solid uli yung ride. Nga pala na-bisita ko narin si mang mario. Mukhang stock holder ka dun ha hope you get a good rig. ano ito, pang off road lang? get the jtop, he!he!

Hindi naman super hard-core conversion ang target. Something liveable and reliable lang. Yung dash, malamang dash shell lang ang palit (it costs around Php 12K from what I gather). I've talked to Joseph already regarding correcting the steering system, climate control, and electricals. Tapos konting engine works depending on state of unit.

Siguro medyo makakatipid na din kung sa mga Tsikot recommended shops ipapaayos like Zee, Mang Mario, speedyfix, etc. :D

Dapat ayusin siguro yung steering (pag orig yung makuha mong gearbox then walang problema), A/C (mukhang malaki naman discount mo kay mang mario then electricals with Joseph(minimal yun). Yung underchassis case to case din naman. Yung dash marami ok mag convert, di masyadong halata. Happy hunting!

Asking price is currently at Php 260K. Used 3 years dito sa Pinas. Owned by a physician. Medyo high-end yung unit. Up-level interior. 4d56 mated to an automatic with coil spring rear. Still needs some mechanical and cosmetic work to be up to my standards, though. Ano ba ang fair price para sa mga ganito? It also needs new tires since the Mickey Thompsons are worn already.
