    Hello,
I'm wondering if anyone can help or give me an advice. I own a mitsubishi lancer gls year 2005 model, 1.6 engine cvt. second hand. My problem is the fuel consumption, it is a little bit high, it is around 5km/liters city driving. I already changed oil, replace air filter, tune up, but still the same. What can I do to make a reasonable rate of 7 or 8km/liters?

i don't press hard on the gas pedal. i wait for the car to slowly accelerate.. i can get 7 km/li that way.

Or for the mean time, plan your trips, early in the morning, late night, check yung idle rpm kung pwede pang ibaba, tipid apak sa gas, coasting pag may pagkakataon...

Try using iridium spark plugs also, it will help in the acceleration so mas lesser ang apak.

taas ng FC mo ah. di kaya sa programming ng ECU yan?
but, check mo din yung route mo everyday, sobrang traffic ba?

musta naman ang tire pressure mo? over inflating based on whats recommended can help reduce fuel consumption

Hindi lang a little bit high, very high na! Even if this car is supposedly inefficient, this is not the norm. I'd expect this sort of gas mileage from big V6 engines around 3.0-3.5L in displacement! Have you already tried changing the CVTF? Try also using the manual shift override and shift as early as allowable by the transmission. And as 1D4LV said, there may also be problems with the ECU programming. You may want to have it checked with an ECU analyzer.

    Hello,
Thank you for the reply, medyo malakas yun pedal ko sa gas pag start because mabagal siya sa start.

    Hello gti,
What do you mean by ecu programming, where i get such service? Sa casa? Last time nag ask ako sa casa, sabi niya normal na daw yun 5-6km/liters pag ganyan ka lumang car. Or palitan ko daw yun timing valve ko which will cost me P11,000. Will it be the solution?

Just want to ask, ok ba yun mga na bibili sa blade stores like x-1r engine treatment? Or nakaksira sila ng mga engines? Last time, pinacheck ko na sa shell station yun tungkol dyan sa fuel consumption ko, pero palit spark plug muna daw then observe. Gusto ko na tuloy bumili ng mirage dahil sa 21km/liters, but not in the budget for that yet chaka mas malaki ang katawan ng lancer compare to the mirage, so kung kaya ko pangsolusyunan yun fuel consumption, why not diba?
