All these comments about the interior, I advise to take a ride in one or even better, drive one. Once you feel the boost come on and sample the cornering, the interior will be the last thing you comment on. My friend own's a 04 wrx and he said the samething about the interior until he took test drive.
for 2.5m...
factory-tuned 2.0L MIVEC turbo
reinforced chassis
AWD
super-ACD
super-AYC
ABS
great braking system
aluminum body
truck-like torque
great suspension
tons of aerodynamic goodies (like the undertray, and so on)
it's a steal.![]()
i wouldn't mind the other passenger's comfort. i'd be more concerned if this wasn't a fun car to drive.
Ganyan talaga minsan sir. Dapat marinig mo yung pinto ng 996 Porsche 911. Tunog nya 'ka-lonk!' parang taxi.
Pero kung tumakbo... aba, ibang storya na yan.An Evo is a drivers car, it should be enjoyed in its purest form without any amenities if possible. Its not for everyone, people will not understand its price tag unless you are part of the few who enjoys the thrill of driving. Not the porma of having a million dollar car. Just look at its performance specs in the track, it can equal of beat the track time in most tracks of a standard 911 carrera, which cost 3x its price. If you value performance ahead of looks then this evo is a bargain.Hehe, kung pwede namang meron pareho, bakit hindi? All these comments about the interior, I advise to take a ride in one or even better, drive one. OT: Anong panlaban ng Nissan sa Evo/STi?At least Mitsu Phils is spicing up their line-up here, eh ang Nissan? dyusme yung Cefiro and Sentra nila!![]()
The 350Z, but its natural competitors are the Eclipse and Mustang.
The older Skyline, when it was still being sold, was much much more expensive than the Evo and STI. It was more of a super-GT than a sports car.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
guys, sa maintainance ang sabi daw nila di tumatagal ng 5,000km ang transmission ng evo especially yung earlier models. totoo po ba ito?
Yup, even yung skyline na ilalabas daw sa US would cost around an est. $75K. Way too pricey compared to EVO, pero ganda nung concept na pinakita sa magazine.
An EVO is a driver's car, sinadya ng Mitsu yung simple appointments, you should see the X, sobrang simple. If you want it to have a luxurious interior, e baka sobrang hirap na maafford yun. So just get a luxury car instead.
If you have an EVO, I bet ibibrit mo yun every chance you got, hehe![]()
Kahit yung mga stunt drivers ng Fast and Furious 3, ung Evo ang pinagaagawan nilang i-drive, that goes to show how great that car is. Hell, even the editors of various car magazines have the EVO as there favorite.![]()

Astig! All you're gonna see are there tail lights when you encounter these ones on the highway.
uhm. since this is the stripped down version, wala rin tong ABS, dba? Hmmm...... I think if you add all the goodies+ABS... cguro MR pa rin.
I'm not sure the US evo people are really missing the SAYC anyways.... o baka sour graping lang sila. hehe.
bili na mga tsong! hehe.
from osaka...razor ramon HG! i just had to say that.
someone in the US i think holds the record for the shortes clutch lifespan (evo8 siya) - 500 miles ata or so. when they took out the clutch, super disintegrated siya. why? driver's fault, half-nakabaon yung clutch all the time.![]()
it's due to the handling naman kasi ng kotse. heck, even owners new to the wrx or the awd system of the wrx complain na madali raw bumigay tranny nun, not realizing na it was because of their driving style, not the mechanicals' fault.

Not true at all, you know the reason? we never had evo8 here.![]()
not that actually.
his words were something like "the car felt like it was gonna stall all the time if i let got of the clutch, so i was always holding it down halfway".
The US did have the EVO 8. In fact, it was the first EVO sold there.
It just wasn't called the EVO 8, since the US had no previous EVOs, they just called it the "Evolution".
RE: fragile transmissions: It's partly driver and partly set-up. As mentioned in a previous thread (god knows where), US EVOs have particularly aggressive rubber that allows very little slip upon launch. Do too many launches, and you're looking at ground kibbles in the drivetrain before too long.
