During the Ondoy Typhoon Cainta was submerged. Did the Mistubishi new cars suffer the fate of other submerged cars? Is there proof it did not submerge? My one fear is to get a new car now (A Mitsu is in contention)and realize after the purchase that it was a flooded car.

    Any news?

    Mitsubishi Motors Philippines issues statement
on its facilities condition & advisory to vehicle owners affected by flood

Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. (MMPC) would like to assure the public that its assembly plant and its vehicle and spare parts stock yard which is located along Ortigas Avenue Extension, Cainta, Rizal was spared from the deep floods brought about by heavy rains of Typhoon Ondoy. According to its president and CEO, Masahiko Ueki, “We are fortunate that MMPC’s facilities were not affected by the deep floods. We however regret that this calamity claimed a lot of lives and huge damage to properties in Cainta and nearby towns. To assist nearby communities, we have deployed relief operations, donating basic necessities such as food, water and clothing to the residents of Cainta and Taytay Rizal.”

Meantime, MMPC and its Luzon dealers will also focus on extending assistance to its customers whose vehicles were submerged under flood waters. In a statement made by Mr. Francisco Zafra, MMPC’s Vice President for Customer Service Department, “Our Metro Manila and nearby Luzon provincial dealers are now in full force to assist flood affected motorists to ensure the full restoration of their vehicles. However, as we anticipate a big number of vehicles to proceed to our service centers, we ask our customer to bear with us given the current capacity of our dealer service facilities. But right now our dealers are taking the initiative to secure additional storage areas just to accommodate these vehicles.” Mr. Zafra advised affected vehicle owners to follow 3 simple steps:
    1. Do not attempt to start the vehicle.
    2. Disconnect the battery
    3. Call up the nearest Mitsubishi dealer for assistance
