Circa 1998 Mitsubishi Space Gear dual battery comes standard on local models?

Sa a few units while browsing some ads. All looked like local units but on the engine photos, two batteries were visible. I'm just wondering if this edition came with two batteries as standard?

The gasoline A/T models that followed (dual sliding door variant) had only one battery.

I've got the same van and yes, it has two batteries.
