Actually, the MU-X is number 3 right now. But once the new Everest begins selling, I'm pretty sure it'll slide down to 4th.

I am guessing market presence and perceived reliability and brand image similar to how Toyota and Mitsubishi are dominating in the Philippines.
Thai Market Domestic:
1. Toyota - 326K (this is even bigger than the total sales of all brands in the Philippines at 269K)
2. Isuzu - 160K
3. Honda - 106K
4. Mitsubishi - 62K
5. Nissan - 58K

Fortuner, Monty and everest would be a very close contest... Possible minsan 1-2-3 sila... Minsan monty sa Taas minsan fortuner or minsan everest.. You can't count out the all new everest... Sa 1-2 position, I think... Coz it is based on the all new ranger, that has been in the no.1 spot on the pickup segment for quite some time now...
I'm from agusan del sur but the mu-x is not that popular dito kahit matagal na ni launch ng isuzu ang mid size suv nila. Di katulad ng fort or monty na pag lumabas ang bago nilang model is sunod-sunod mo makikita sa kalsada yung mga units nila.
Kahit yung family friend namin na isuzu fanatic na plan bumili ng crosswind last year, sabi ko mag mux na lang cya dahil konti na lang dagdag nya sa budget nya for crosswind naka suv(mux) na cya. I was surprised he bought a montero.
Off topic: Pansin ko lang Isuzu resale value is not what it used to be. Yan kaya isang dahilan mas pabor ang tao na bumili ng Toyota or Mitsu?
prosperidad?
BTT with the arrival of the new montero, fort, and everest, admittedly, whatever thrill, if any, MU-X has generated has already fizzled out. if ever it had made some waves, with all due respect, now they become ripples lost in the tsunami of the market leaders in this segment.

It took a brand new Ranger 2 years before it could overthrow the Hilux that was 7 years older than it. I don't think the Everest stands a chance against the Fortuner if both are released at the same time.
As for the MU-X (and Trailblazer), they can't even sell 1/3 of what the decade-old Fortuner sells. Even with a huge price difference, I'm sure the new Fort will significantly outsell them.
The new Montero IMO is polarizing. The sales of the new Strada are lackluster compared to when the previous Strada was launched. This just isn't as attractive compared to its peers. I doubt it'll be a close race between the Montero and Fortuner, unless the former undercuts prices of the latter significantly.

May i know why VGS over duratorq? We're planning to get SUV second hand or brand new this dec or early next year.
I think duratorque engines is one Gen. Higher than Vgs... I read somewhere duratorque is also use by Range Rover engines...
