remember it's a BUSINESS so it has to make a profit for the car maker. to do that it just needs to be competitive w/ rivals in terms of features and price

and our region doesn't have fuel economy standards that have to be met. so 4a/t is it. yeah it kinda sucks
Kaya nga may competition eh so that upgrading or increasing the specs would make sense, dahil consumers would know the edges of a certain product would have over a similar product, which will prompt them to buy it for that very reason. Pero di lang naman sa tranny yan, syempre. It could be something that defines it uniquely, like the specs of the engine, the design, space, suspension, reliability, etc. cuz kahit similar sila due to their classifications, in the end magkakaiba parin mga yan. Basta what matters the most though is that you're happy with your choice, na you believe na worth yung peso na ginasta mo para dun. For example, andaming toyota sa kalsada because of its reputation in reliability pero it doesn't necessarily mean it's the best in terms of specs, diba?

Some buyers if not most eh di tumitingin sa specs. Kahit na mas technically advanced ang specs ng competitor, dun parin sila sa nakagisnan na.

yeah maybe the target market for Xpander/Avanza/Rush/Ertiga doesn't really care aabout 4a/t vs 5a/t. so if mitsu switches to 5a/t they might lose the price advantage. and yes this segment is very price sensitive too

There are still exceptions parin that would exists regarding the characteristics but whatever it is, it's still better if they could depart from 4-speed by offering a better tranny for it that has more gears, if they can.

In the case of the xpander though, I wouldn't really care because I don't plan to buy one in the future lol. Pero I just perceived that the a/t would be somehow the same like the monty or the mirage, both having 8-speed a/t or cvt, respectively, though I was wrong. I thought nga nung una na may sportronic mode siya eh kahit 4-speed lang pero hindi pala.

What are you looking for your first brand new car po bah? [emoji16]

My suggestion is to wait for the feedbacks for the real owners once they received their expander...

oh, the first brand new car is really a difficult decision. for me, it took me 3 years to decide on which one to get. so far it did not fail me naman and that car stayed with me for 14 years. di na masyadong mahirap on the 2nd car, it took me 2 years nalang to decide. hahaha.

kung may magagamit kapa naman na tsikot, please wait for the feedbacks ng owners coming from the philippines, since dito mo din naman sa pinas gagamitin, like fuel consumption, maintenance, or any problem since it's going to be the 1st generation. usually yung maimprove are the 2nd gens, vios for example, or the montero, etc.

is it a good buy? cars in general is a dead investment, binili mo ng brand new today, you cannot sell it the next day with the same price you bought it. just think of it na gagamitin mo cya for the next 5 years or so giving you mobility, convenience and peace of mind bringing you and your family from point A to point B.
