Common knowledge the sweet spot of most cars for better FC is at 80kph. My 3.2 MS best FC is at 24 km/l driving it at 80kph for almost an hour.
In the TGPh eco run the xpander came on top with 21km/l, the other contenders were not named for obvious reasons.

I'm confused, this other article from ************ says it was the Mobilio that topped the DOE Fuel Economy Run at 24.69 km/l.

There is some obvious spin being done around here and it could not have been two separate eco runs (one by TGPh and the other by the DOE) either since the mileage quoted for both Xpander variants were the same to the second decimal between the two publications.

Test like this is not real-world-accurate. This is just to give people an idea how it fares up to similar vehicles then do the math afterwards.

Any idea why the display unit was pulled out of Karasia? A friend from Digos went to Davao to have a look but was told it was sent back to Indonesia. Might have been sold off.

all i know, the display unit was sold to someone the casa can't say no.. it was the lone unit here in davao.. am bit lucky as i had the chance to get the feel on the 3rd seat. kasya naman ako kahit medyo malaki ako. problem though with mitsu davao, they will cater only customers who will avail of in-house financing.. at sobrang taas, 20%DP and PhP22k*60mos. yup, if ever rush will come to davao this early, it will give xpander run for its money.. taga sa presyo at haba ng pila.

I've just registered here. Got my unit, GLS Sport (white) last Thursday, May 31, from Alabang (odo 13km). Brought it to Lucena the following day. On my way back via Star Tollway, easily went 120kph, briefly touched 145-150. Max Indicated Average FC 11.2 km/l. Present Odo 320kms. Very satisfied with the performance and NVH. Not really surprised, as I have extensively read about the vehicle.

Nice.. hows the handling and acceleration?

Handling: Very Good 9/10 for around-town driving and cruising up to 100kph, very light and quick steering; Started to feel a bit unsteady at around 130kph+. I'll have the wheel balance checked. Might need bigger tires to be able to handle such high speeds.
Acceleration: Good 7/10. I tried to avoid any sudden or hard acceleration as I'm trying to break-in the vehicle properly. I'm very satisfied, though, considering that my other car has a 2-liter 155hp engine.

We're four in the vehicle with some luggage. I don't really expect to achieve 22kpl in normal driving conditions. 15kpl I think will be more realistic. 18kpl max. Most likely, I'll achieve these numbers after engine break-in and the drive components have loosened-up a bit.

As per info I got, all display units in the country were pulled out by the plant. Since sila na nga ang in charge sa distribution pati demo model recalled for selling narin. Wala na tlaga kasi units. July pa daw next batch. Around august expected nila sustained orders na

Thanks for the info sirs. My friend still went ahead with the reservation. I don't think they will go with in-house financing as they loaned the money elsewhere but they were told the casa will try to include them in the queue for the next batch. Highly doubt it.

Welcome sir and congrats on your new expander. Do you think the ride-height is adequate enough and how deep do you think it can wade through in terms of flood water? ankle deep? knee deep?

Do you think it could use bigger tires (as I really think they're a bit too small)? Also how's the ride on really rough roads?

Do you have plans of adding any mods to it?

The ride height is significantly higher than a standard car and, with the higher air-intakes, offers better wading capability. I think it could easily go through knee-deep floodwaters but, of course, there's the risk of water entering the cabin, transmission, wheel bearings, etc. Unless you live or work in areas with perennial flooding, your car-buying decisions shouldn't be based on that remote chance that you might go thru floodwaters. Otherwise, you should be better-off with a higher SUV.

I, too, think the tires seem small and inadequate (maybe to cut costs). As I am quite satisfied with the stock rims, I plan to upgrade later to 215/60-16. At the WTC launching, I saw the car with 225/45-18, but with the premium appearance comes detrimental effects on performance and comfort.

I'm not a big fan of after-market mods. The GLS Sport is already equipped with air dams and side skirts (that's also why the tires seem even smaller). The only thing I might add to the car, aside from the above tire-upgrade, are wheel spacers that will reduce the gap in the wheel wells and give the car a better stance.

Noob here, I just saw a video where the Xpander barely climbs a 45 degree slope.
The vehicle is struggling and goes down a bit - then finally reaches the top with momentum starting at ground level.

Can this happen to an AT or this is a problem for MT only?
