Best to compare the Xpander to other seven-seater MPVs like the Avanza, Mobilio, Innova, and Ertiga.
They are not comparing. What they are implying is that the Xpander price-wise will give these 5 seater subcompact SUVS a run for their money.
My bayaw was one of them, drooling over the Ecosport for the longest time but eventually chose the BR-V.

With regards to the comparison, let carguide handle this :
218 Mitsubishi Xpander vs Honda Mobilio vs Honda BR-V vs Toyota Avanza | Philippine Car News, Car Reviews, and Prices | ************

For the driving dynamics, FC, NVH, etc, review of actual owners, mukhang we have to wait until 2Q-3Q of 2018.

nasa.jpl has a point that these small MPV's will never be as good in terms of refinement and performance as those 5-seater CUVs. The same applies to the comparison of subcompacts against compacts. As good as the City or Vios can be as a daily ride, they are still no Altis or Civic.

Our local market is geared more towards the most seating seating capacity in the most economical way possible. Biggest factor for consideration is price and low fuel cost.

Compacts, 5-seater CUVs, and midsizers will still have a few buyers but it will not be as big as subcompacts, small MPVs, or PPVs.

Buyers will compare them because of the price ... there's no right or wrong ...

Based on Indonesia's sales figures, Xpander is the best selling vehicle for the month of January and February 2018 sold more than 7,000 units for each month.

Hmmm disappointing nga yung hand brake location... Sana magawan ng paraan on future facelifts...

As for the RHD vs LHD... Pinas drives on the right side of the road... just like the US and 70% of the countries.

Although lugi tayo for ASEAN cars (eg Avanza/Wigo), China drives on the same side as ours kaya cars that used to be Jap only (eg Alphard) may LHD version na...

But I agree with dr. d., car was made for Asean and tayo lang halos market nila for LHD vehicles.

mas disappointing yung radio ng first shipment innovas. driver has to stretch a bit to get at the on/off/volume control knob. it had since been "corrected" in the later models.
and the wigo's AT stick markings are on the right side of the stick; the stick covers some of the lyrics.
...the disadvantages of LHD country in the middle of RHD sub-continent...
    OT.

IIRC, pati radio ng naunang fortuner, nasa RHD ang power or volume knob.
Sana isama nila sa production ito sa sta rosa plant nila para proudly pinoy-made

and yet these cars sold like hotcakes.
    may pag-asa pa ang xpander.

i did some half-hearted backread, and couldn't find it.
is there a corporate explanation for the strange name?
