This is good news for Mitsubishi. Strike while the iron is hot, as they say. The 2000 preorders need to be fulfilled before Toyota launches the Rush with full availability to avoid buyers reneging on their reservation.
However, based on what's written on the article, only 25% of production will be for export per month. That's just 2,500 units which will be shared between PH, Vietnam, and Thailand. That means the reservations will take about 3 months to fill. Mitsubishi needs to keep potential buyers warm until that point.

"Our focus is export to ASEAN countries such as Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines," - listed kaya eto in terms of volume prioritization, if yes, baka mas mababa sa 1/3 nung 2,500 units yung allocation ng Pinas
Mitsubishi got a little breather given that only the TOTL Rush offers 7 seats. However, on the assumption that more units of the Rush can be immediately imported given its lukewarm (or should I say disappointing) reception in Indonesia, the lack of available units of the Xpander could greatly hurt its local sales.

April 18th, 2018 07:52 PM #997Until now, MMKSI has successfully obtained 60,000 Xpander Vehicle Order Letter (SPK) in the domestic market. Meanwhile, more than 30,000 units of Xpander have been sent to consumers.

The Mitsubishi Xpander might be new for our market, but it's been around in Indonesia since August last year. So it's had a lot more time to make an impact over there. It also seems that it's made quite a big impression, as it was just named the country's Car of the Year.
Otomotif, Indonesia's leading tabloid, bestowed the honor on Mitsubishi's MPV. It also gave the Xpander awards in two other categories: Best of the Best MPV and Best Small MPV. Since its launch, Mitsubishi's Indonesian office (MMKSI) has taken 60,000 orders for units, and is already a bestseller in its segment.
Mitsubishi CEO Osamu Masuko said: "We are very grateful to have received this award from Otomotif, which is a recognition of the wonderful reception that Xpander has been given by the people of Indonesia. Many people had a hand in this success, including our friends and business partners at MMKSI and the Indonesian government. Years of careful research went into the design of the Xpander, a modern MPV that meets the needs of Indonesia's hard-working families."
Congratulations, Mitsubishi! Do you guys think the Xpander will win similar accolades in our country?

agree on the Avanza... horrible ride and I also have issues with its seats. Veloz is a better car
