Advise on Mitsubishi RVR (Sports Gear)

good day po, newbie lang po ako sa pagmamaneho ng cage, motor po kasi gamit ko e. lately nalang po ako nagmaneho ng cage kasi un kotse ng gf ko e hindi nya nagagamit, so ako nalang ang nag drive para di masayang at masira. rvr po kotse nya,nabili po sa japan tapos pinaconvert nalang dito satin, question po mga sirs,
1.san po ba nakakabili ng pyesa ng rvr gaya po ng dashboard kasi medyo luma na po un dashboard nun e.
2.san po ba pwede mag paayus ng electrical nun? gusto ko po kasi ipaayos un electrical wiring nya, medyo hindi po kasi maganda pagkakagawa e, sala salabit po kasi e
3. and the most important question ko po is, bakit po hirap mag start un sasakyan? i mean..kelangan parang i ignite(di ko lam term e - un naka on na sya pero di pa start un makina) tapos leave it for 5-10 mins bago sya mag start...bakit po kaya ganon?

Tignan mo yung tag sa seatbelt. You'll get a rough idea from there. Yung sa Pajero ko pati yung upuan may manufacturing date, eh. Saka yung likod ng mga sidings may manufacture date din mula sa contractor ng Mitsu.

Sige will do that. Di kasi nila maibigay yung exact year model nung sasakyan. Kaya nga curious din ako makita yung CR and recent OR from LTO.

most probably around 1990-1992, don't be scared, usually good condition pa yung mga unit, don't rely too much on the year model, just check the engine and suspesion

was able to test drive it kanina with my dad. color red/silver (two tone). kakatawa kasi yung signal lever sa manibela nasa kaliwa kaya pag signal ako wiper gumagana bwhahahaha. eto mga findings ko:

- medyo matigas yung manibela for power steering. sabi dealer check nila baka kulang lang sa PS fluid. pero sabi ko check nila mabuti
- ganda suspension and wala ingay engine, di tumatalsik langis pag bukas kung nung takip kahit i rev
- aircon amoy sariwa, matalim yung lamig.
- galing din nung sidemirrors...hasnep tumitiklop.
- di na gumagana yung heater.
- me mga buttons din di ko maitindihan like yung switch to power/econ/? ewan ko kung para saan yun. bas trip japanese yung manual
- stock lahat sa loob labas.
- check ko yung tag sa seatbelt, 1994
- mileage niya 63,345 (sabi nila di nila kinalikot..as is) low mileage siya for a 8-9 year old car

anyway, nag down na kami kanina. detail nila yung sasakyan, quality check and rehistro na sa pangalan namin. 1 week daw ok na to. Out of town kagad namin to para masubok, puwede ibalik pag me diperensya. Sabi ko dun sa owner "paano ko babalik to kung nadedo kami sa expressway (knock on wood)" Sabi niya quality yung conversion nila compared sa mga auctioned SUVs sa subic. Well sapalaran na to.

Para sa A/T iyan. Kapag 'power', mas mataas na revs bago siya mag-shift (gagalitin muna). Kapag 'econ', shift agad. Pero halos wala namang pinagkaiba ang dalawang mode na iyan. Iwan mo na lang sa 'power' para ready ka parati.

Thanks, saan ba nakakabili ng murang hard cover ng rear tire. How much din siya (price range)? Di naman kailangan RVR yung naka emboss. kahit plain lang tapos pa body color ko na lang.:wink:

If the price is over P300K, i would rather settle for a local Space Wagon then dress it up with RVR surplus parts (front and rear facia, meron sa Banawe when i looked). You can get a '96-'98 1.8 Spacewagon for the P300-350K price if you look around... With this you'll avoid the problems that you may encounter with conversions. Seems to be a bit pricey pa at P300K for an RVR...

congrats on the buy! :D ok na yung price. duda lang ako sa mileage, but as long as the condition is good, ok na. ganun din yung steering ng rvr namin, medyo matigas, mas malambot pa nga yung sa hilux w/ 31' tires
try mo yung 4wd sa soft soil, mud or rocks, to be sure it works. natuwa ako dun 1st time i used it, kasi 1st time ko magdrive ng realtime 4wd

Hybrid, So to test if the fulltime/realtime (pareho lang ba to) 4wd is working is gamitin ko kagad offroad? wala ba indicator yun? pano ko rin malalaman kung gumagana yung turbo. sabi nung friend ko me trooper me fan like sound ka daw maririnig. sabi ko baka naman auxilliary fan ng radiator yun he he. Sensya na at medyo bopols ako sa ganito, lumaki kasi kami lahat na puro auto lang e, first lang namin magka SUV.

we also considered yung space wagon kaso di kasya sa garahe. extended kasi likod nito. me nakita din pala ako dun sa dealer namin nung pajero jr mini 3 door (pajerito tawag nila) ang liit para siya vitara actually. kaso di namin afford at P430k. :oops:

I-jack mo yung front wheels. Tapos paandarin mo. Kapag umabante, gumagana 4wd nun (kaso nahulog naman siya sa jack hehehe). Wala siyang indicator kasi auto system na siya with no levers or buttons.

Yung turbo mararamdaman mo naman ang power. Mahirap i-discern ang sound niya. Usually yung intercooler fan ang maririnig mo or yung a/c fan.

Open diff ang RVR. So bale hindi iikot ng sabay ang 4 wheels niyan. One wheel each axle lang ang iikot. Minsan yung opposite wheel paatras pa ang ikot dahil nga open diff design. Pero its a good way to check.

kuha ko na pala yung RVR Sports Gear. i was able to drive it thoroughly last saturday and heto mga napansin ko.

- observe ko na pag preno ako may "chug, chug, chug" sound sa ilalim. sabi nung friend ko yun daw yung ABS. pero di ko sure kasi kung me ABS yung RVR. advise naman kasi di ko ma drive ng malayo at baka madisgrasya ako. preno pa naman yan.

- yung manibela lumalangitngit pag steer mo. PS fluid kaya to or maluwag yung PS belt?

puwede ko naman ibalik sa shop for repair pero i need to be sure 1st kung tama yung mga hinala ko.

When ABS systems activate, it has a grinding sound/feel on the pedal but this should only occur during hard braking where you stomp hard on the pedal and the ABS actually comes into use/function (panic braking on a slippery road). Another question is that if the car had an ABS system prior to conversion, do you really think that they carried it over during the conversion and if it was done properly?

I'd suggest you go have the car checked asap as those problems that you feel could be serious to your safety on the road (steering and brakes).

Try to get some second opinions from another shop as well so that you dont rely on what the one shop tells you... medyop mahirap din kung ganun lagi IMO.

sige pa check ko sa sabado. sabi nung friend ko na seldom daw sa mga converted SUVs na ok pa rin yung ABS. Mabusisi daw ang electonics nun e kaya di na lang nila kinakabit. salamat muli!

Simple lang electronics ng ABS. Self contained unit (computer box ito). Yung wheelspeed sensors lang ang kinukunan niya ng inputs (simple din lang ang wheelspeed sensors).

Try the Mitsubishi dealership. May ABS na din naman ang mga latest Mitsus, eh.

sensya na binuhay ko ulit ito. last night i was driving my dad's RVR Sports gear. nung pag park ko napansin ko bigla tigas ng manibela. so inuwi ko. damn ang hirap iliko napakatigas ng steering. buti naipasok ko pa sa garahe. tapos napansin ko me tagas sa ilalim na PS Fluid.

dahil covered pa rin ng warranty, kinuha ng mekaniko nung shop na pinagbilhan namin yung sasakyan kaninang umaga. tumawag ako just a while ago and sabi sira daw yung rack and pin so kailangan baklasin and palitan.

guys grabe ba to? advise naman...
