mga boss tanong lang po my adventure po ako na gls sport kya lang di pa po namen napapa change oil nabili po namen ito ng second hand ang mileage po niya ay 20,000 so dapat po 25,000 lng eh change oil na.. inabot na po ng 27,000 hindi pa po namen napapa change oil ang tanong po ko hindi po kaya magkaproblema yung makina nito kasi hindi pa namen siya napapa change oil althought madalang lng namen gamitin once a week lang po.. need advice po THANK PO..

your engine will become premature dead if you dont do maintenance.

dapat every 5k km change oil ka talaga. whether its gasoline or diesel engine.

Depende sa oil. Kung ordinary mineral oil lang nakalagay diyan makakasama sa engine mo yan. Pero kung fully synth kahit lumagpas yan. Dapat nga pagkabili mo nag change oil agad kayo kasi di mo alam history niyan kung second hand.

either way change oil ka na chief! Always follow the manufacturer's recommended interval (5K or 3 mos.) since 2nd hand mo na nakuha and you don't have an entire idea about the vehicle's history. You might as well have the fluids (like brake fluids,coolant, etc) checked/replaced para one stop na din sa trusted mechanic mo and to maintain your vehicle in tip-top condition.

unless Fully synthetic gamit mo sa gasoline, yun pwede 10K km. But for a diesel, IMO best talaga na every 5K change oil mo kahit na fully syn pa rin. So if hindi malaki budget for maintenance, use premium mineral oil na multi-grade na lang from trusted brands.

Due to budget constraints or other economic factors, reputable premium multi-grade oil would suffice for (5K or 3 mos) pms! And don't forget the oil filter (OEM-strongly suggest) as well! I've read this somewhere from an oil guru about maintaining diesel engines that "Clean mineral oil is better than a dirty synthetic oil".

Mas madaling maging thinner ang langis ng gasoline engine kaysa sa diesel engine dahil sa cold starting.May autochoke ang old petrol carb engine at sa EFI engine,bibigyan naman ng ecu ng mas maraming gas ang makina during cold start at ang excess fuel will pass leak to the ring and mixes with the motor oil. This will dilute the oil making it thinner in the long run.Mas matagal ang oilchange interval dapat sa diesel engines.Often times change oil intervals depends on how much oil the engine needs during oil changes.

Kung hindi din lang brand new, IMO wag na sa casa para mura. Sa suki kong mekaniko P50 lang labor kaya ng change oil. Ganyan sila katipid. P150 kung kasama fuel filter kasi dami babaklasin na. hehehe.

Chief kung hindi na cover ng warranty advie gls sport mo pwede na sa labas ng casa yan! you can go to your nearest "reputable" gas station (like petron and caltex). Not only that labor is cheap for oil change and tune ups, pwede ka mgdala ng oil of your choice sa kanila, unlike shell wherein there is extra charge if you're not going to purchase their oil! Although shell gas stations has more likely casa-type service (Helix Service Center), may package din naman yung ibang mga gas stations and they are also equipped to provide good pms (depende sa branch!--makati area, quezon ave area...) similar to what casas do.

to sum it up on labor for oil change;just to give you a heads up for your budget....
150-200 Petron*
150-250 Caltex (depende sa branch)
400-500 Shell Helix Center (includes 10 pt. check up)

*abutan mo lang yung mechanic ng 50-100 (discretion mo na!) pwede mo na pasama cleaning ng air filter mo (thru the use of compressed air) and wiping of engine bay w/ a clean cloth!

just avoid using "engine flush or motor flush" (or any kerosene based flushing chemicals!) and compressed air on the engine during oil change!

I still go for oem's no matter what! madali naman maghanap ng oem oil filter for mitsus chief..you can go to a nearest atco or el dorados! Just buy the oem oil filter and the oil of your choice before bringing it to any of the recommended gas stations. BTW, please take note of the required oil viscosity on your Advie (check your manual!)

Kung walang OEM, puwede din Vic. Maganda din performance niya, comparable sa OEM IMO. sa advie pwede na ang 15W-40 na API-CF or above.

+1 In the absence of OEM oil filters, price-wise and quality---I would also go for VIC-Eiken Industries filters (made in Japs pa!) Careful lang po sa pagbili according to some loyal users (that includes my dad!) marami na rin daw po naglipanang fake or imitated VIC filters...make sure you buy them at authorized outlets!

Di maselan ang Advie kaya pwede na ang VIC. Yan din gamit ko. Pero paminsan minsan pinapatikim ko rin ng genuine basta napadaan sa El Dorado

VIC and Trekker (15w40 multi-grade) ayos na ayos ito sa Adventure mo.. You cab also use DELO-Gold-Multi Grade and Castrol GTX 15W 40-- These are tested oil that would not break your Bank.
