May 20th, 2010 10:23 AM #2None. Its engine(4D56) is ordinary indirection injection diesel engine, mechanical fuel injection.

thanks, thats what i want to know.now i confirmed it, i dont have worry for expensive ECU,kabado kasi pag my ganun baka sa kalagitnaan pumutok kahit na isang component sa loob,like diode (made in china??)or whatever, ititirik ako sa kalagitnaan,naku!

I don't know if you can call that an advantage compared to modern crdi engine na may ECU.

Another advantage is that, kumbaga sa tao, matibay ang sikmura ng 4D56; it can handle practically any type of diesel fuel and still come out fighting. That's one less item to think about as far as operation and maintenance are concerned.
This is in stark contrast to modern common-rail diesel engines that are extremely picky about fuel quality; napakaselan sa krudo, which is why we have countless CRDi owners worrying about which fuel to use and where to get it.
The lack of an ECU is partly what gave me the confidence to brave hood-deep floodwaters during Typhoon Ondoy in my Adventure. Basta huwag lang tumirik, ok pa ako.Last edited by Bogeyman; May 6th, 2012 at 08:36 PM.
