Guys need help w/ my 4M40 Engine on Pajero '05, still overheating after checking hoses, overhauling radiator, passing bubble pressure test, replacing radiator cap. Over heating on high revs only and water from radiator transferring to the reservoir. hope someone could share a light on this. and any recommmendation for a reliable motorshop aside from casa.

July 28th, 2009 12:30 PM #5is it really overheating? nangyari na sa kin kasi one time, akala ko overheat. napabili ako ng wala sa oras ng 1 gallon ng distilled water. pagbukas ko ng radiator, puno naman tubig ko. yun pala, aux fan ng aircon ang problema.
please check the rotation ng water pump kung maganda pa. at yun play niya, dapat wala yun. btw, anong tubig gamit mo sa radiator mo, distilled ba, pre mixed coolant, o tap water lang?

July 28th, 2009 12:52 PM #7it DOES make a difference sir, a very big difference. having distilled water on the cooling system reduces, if not eliminates rusting of the whole cooling system

I had the same problem b4 with my Accord, now i got pajero also. Try mo baka related sa naging problem ko nuon.
baka sira na ung thermo switch yata ang tawag dun, ang purpose nun para magactivate ng aux fan. ichec mo kung umaandar yun aux fan bago mag overheat o uminit. kung yun nga replacement will do. 450 ang bili ko dun. yung sa accord ko dalawa yun switch kaya chec mo.
It might be the possible solution.

January 19th, 2010 09:34 AM #10boss nats! hindi naman kaya naipasa ang genes ng 4D56 sa 4M40? hehehehe...ganyan din 4D56 ko before. ambilis umakyat yung temp kapag >80 km/h at sa stop & go traffic. kala ko nga overheating na e puno pa pala radiator at reservoir.
eto pinapalitan ko:
1. cyl head gasket
2. valve seal kasi mausok na
3. grinding ng head
4. rad overhaul and change cap(gumagamit pa rin coolant not tap water)
5. change a/t fluid
tumataas pa rin temp pero hindi na kagaya dati na ambilis umakyat temp.
