    Ilan years ba bago palitan ang nozzle tip ng Diesel, mine is 4d56 L300 Van, and kung bago ba ang nozzle tip kailangan pa ba na ecalibrate? any brand na maganda. (sabi nila Nippon Denzo or ZEXCEL) any comments.

    Im also interested with knowing the cost of having this replaced. Sabi kasi ng mechanic namin may diperensya na daw yung isang tip kaya parang garalgal yung takbo. 114t kms na ata ako eh. Am I obligated to change them all or kahit yung may diperensiya lang? And kelangan pa bang i calibrate after? And saan pwede ipagawa ito na cheap at may quality work?

    AFAIK you should bring it to a reputable calibration shop and have the nozzles tested.. the results will show which nozzles does'nt perform within standards anymore andf just opt to have those particular nozzles replaced.

    what i want to know, since we have similar engines, 4D56, at what mileage would these engines often manifest detoriation on nozzle performance??? what are the symptoms of having a poor nozzle??

    are there any scheduled maintenance on nozzle check up?? or do we just wait till our vehicles exhibit belching??

    advice please diesel guru's!

    tia!

    life span of nozzle tips in Philippine condition would last 5 years the most but I would recommend checking them every year. 3 years if you use like a workhorse...

    for 4D56, you're supposed to use Zexel but it's a bit expensive but longer lasting, another alternative is Doowon.

    Avoid shops recommending "hasa" on your nozzle tips....

    Ang sabi sa service manual ng mga Mitsu L300 & L200 check the nozzle tip spray pattern every 50T kms. Just like v22 said, pag tinest na sa calibration shop saka lang malalaman kung kelangan nang palitan. ;)

    the service manual wasn't written with Philippine road conditions in mind....plus you don't want to wait for the time when you spew black smoke, lack power, have irritating smoke coming out of your pipe or any fuel injection malfunction not until you visit a good shop....by then the expense would be something you would have thought, "sayang, I should have checked this before, para ma-agapan pa".

    pinoys have a delayed mentality when it comes to repairs specially the financial aspect of it.

    I am basing everything on my experience....

    the expert has spoken... two of the most recommended shops here are Betan and Denso. You can't go wrong with these two shops. Have it check.

    acenie,
    think of it like a tire, both of them operate at certain pressures to have the best operating condition....putting in air pressure for a new tire is the same like calibrating the correct pressures for a new nozzle tip.

    re-checking pressures for both every now and then is recommended....

    Bumili ako ng bagong nozzle (Zexel) ang ginawa yung mekaniko tinesting niya muna yung spray sabi niya ok daw, paano niya malalaman kung ok yung spray, meron bang measurement yung spray pattern?

    did he use an injector tester?

    what this machine does is you attach your injector with the new nozzle tip inside and it pounds calibrated pressure unto the injector where you can actually see the spray pattern, atomization and if all the holes work of the new nozzle tip. depending on the part number, it will tell us what pressure, spray pattern, angle etc. we should achieve.

    it's almost like simulating its operation on your vehicle's engine..

    meron siyang ginamit na machine "is a single injector testing" e test niya one by one yung injectors.Sa tingin ko yung machine makikita mo lang doon kung maganda ang yung spray by using your eyes. Meron bang machine na measure niya yung spray?

    let me add something more....

    a chief engineer of a popular bus line went to our shop before and he observed the installation of a new set of nozzle tips on their buses's injectors....when calibration time came, he insisted on using his own style of setting it but of course we warned him that this would void the warranty since its not within the specificied procedure and there was no record of pressure calibration.

    you know what he did? he asked us to mount the injection pump on the test bench and attach the injectors onto the fuel lines, he then asked us to rev it which by now the injectors where spewing diesel fuel, he then got a piece of paper and placed it underneath the tip on the nozzle tip, when it splattered fuel forming like a spray pattern, he said Ok na yan!

    they went back with the new tips and after a day or two, he was now asking for warranty. we just told him bluntly, we can't give you that since you would not let us calibrate the injectors with new tips using the proper procedure and calibration specifications...

    a lot of backyard mechanics tend to be a know it all because they think they have enough experience of doing something...

    Doc Diesel;

    Would you advise using cheaper nozzle tip brands? Kasi Im thinking of selling my L200 in 1 or 2 years time naman din eh. Would you think it would last that long?
