    BTT (2016 Montero OCC):
Upon reading this, maybe we can consider the OCC as optional then? Depending on how OC we are with our engine and of course if budget permits
I only had my OCC installed recently on my Navara. It is running a lot smoother now. Methinks the oil vapor from the crank case was the cause. It is 9 years old and a lot of oil was washed out when they cleaned the IC.

For me the best one is still Provent. The design jist won't let any oil into the outlet, and having a drain at the bottom, you can plumb the oil back to the crank case or drain the oil if you prefer. It also has a bypass valve which opens to let the air through just in case the filter gets clogged.

Necessary is such a relative term. If you want your car to last for a really long time and to run as smoothly as possible, I suggest it is worth a look. You only need to unplug your breather hose to see how much oil is dripping there. More damning is the intercooler. You'd be surprised at how much oil collects there after a few thousand Kms.

If you are the sort who sells after a few years, it may not be necessary.

As to why they are not fitted from factory, cost is the number one consideration. And the possible issues occuring a long time past the warranty period makes it unnecessary for the manufacturer.

Susme, it all boils down kung paano ka mag maintain ng sasakyan mo. Di mo yan kailangan, all you need is proper change oil and follow the suggested periodic maintenance.

Long time ago, yung mga sasakyan na binebenta sa Pilipinas (hello lancer boxtype) walang rear passenger seatbelts, at walang side mirrors (except for driver side lang ata).

So were seatbelts and side mirrors useless accessories, considering they were not "factory installed" back then in the Philippines? I don't think so.

Long time ago yun, di pa uso ang "lawsuit".

Makina ang pinag uusapan dito not the additional aesthetics/interior safety features.
