    1. I prefer the interior of the Monty over the Fortuner which is too bare for me.
    2. Wifey likes the sporty looks compared to Fortuner na medyo parang mas lesser ang sportiness but still looks very good especially in light color.
    3. Ride is more comfortable compared to Fortuner
    4. Specs by specs comparison between the Fortuner G vs the Monty GLS Standard - Monty wins for me

I chose Monty GLS Standard over the Everest Ambiente because of the ff:

    1. I still prefer the interior of the Monty over the Everest.
    2. I prefer the exterior looks of the Monty over the Everest Ambiente
    3. I own a T6 so I definitely wanted to try something different.
Now this is part of why I can to this forum or thread.

Subjective and accurate. Something you can quantify. Something worth the time reading.

That's a big discount. May I know when and from which dealer did you buy your Monty? Thanks.

And for some of us, we don't intend to keep the car for 20 years just to see it become a classic, iba nga 3-5 years palit na agad ng bago. So why bother thinking how this car is going to be great 20-30 years from now. Heck I care hehehe. I want the car to be at it's best NOW. And now the monty is just the best at the budget I'm in.

I did a few back read and honestly I didn't find any of Mr minicarph's feedback/comment useful at all. Just more like nagpapaaliw lng sa page. Ung tipong maingay but you don't even try to digest what he wants to say hehehe

Keep the comments useful naman, and review the montero 2016/2017, not the Montero 20-30 years from now.

Exactly the point hence the first part where it says ( my sole opinion). So I don't think injecting any one's opinion that hard makes sense. Tuloy this thread looks more like a comparison rather than a thread to see how the Montero is right now for those who already owns one. Dun kc mag ingay ung iba sa mga sariling thread ng EVE or FORT nila. Hehehe

well, this is an opinion thread naman. everyone's opinion is welcome. it 's up to the reader to determine which is gold and which is balderdash.

Why does he own a Fortuner and not a Monty? So bakit siya naka tambay dito?

People are not here to read about how good it must be to have a Fortuner. I'm sure we can navigate to the Fortuner thread no problem..

If you must side comment as to how a Fortuner is better than the monty make it naman na it's still respectful, nasa Monty thread kaya it..

True, to each his own talaga. It's our hard earned money after all.

Well your opinion is WRONG. You can't box every car buyer based on what you think. Ganon lang kasimple. Actually yung thread ng fort, eve, at mont di maiiwasan ang comparo. It only gets sh*t when someone starts accusing false claims, like what you did. LOL.

It is tiring to see these Fort vs Montero "my SUV is better than your SUV" posts. Both are good SUVs. You cant go wrong with either and the other competing SUVs. It is not that others didnt do their homework. We have different opinions. Different priorities.

The Montero is still being murdered by the Fortuner in terms of Sales even with heavy discounts on the Montero (3:1 ratio). That just says something. Not that the Montero is bad, but the Fort is selling for reasons more than just the T badge alone. Remember, these two are neck and neck from the previous gen.

I'm buying the Montero primarily because of the Safety Features on the GLS Premium. It is important for me to have ESC at this day and age. Bonus is the value for money created by the huge discounts being offered.

Yes, GLS Premium adds ESC, a system which helps prevent accidents on the first place by controlling brakes individually, then + 4 more side and curtain airbags on top of the standard dual front airbags.

I own an accessory shop.. and most clients with Fortuner I talk to say it's because it is a Toyota, some kc mas mura ang parts, and of course mas higher resale value for them. that I give to the Fortuner. I for one would want that too.

Just like what we are talking about here, we have different perspective on these parameters. Some wouldnt value T badge and Reliability on the Fortuner, some wouldnt value the specs and value for money on the Montero. Heck, some wouldnt even buy a Montero because of the polarizing rear design. That is what my dad is holding me off on purchasing one. But it grew on me. And it wont matter if it has the ugliest rear as long as i'm happy with my purchase for its intended use.

Let us just respect one another. As a shop owner, can you tell your customers that they did not made researches, they just want to drive it since it has a T badge? I think it is also unfair generalizing them..

And thats why I said you either didn't do your research or is just willing to compromise.

I had a customer who yes did his research and found the Monty to be the real value for money but indeed up getting the fort because it will end up being higher in resale value.

True to say we have our own preference and so why i didn't bother telling him why I think I wouldnt want one. It is his choice and I'll leave it at that..

Not sure if this has been discussed here. But which is more suitable for our monty, deep dish or black liner? Leaning towards black liner

    To each their own

This thread will be boring without an adverse opinion

Its like a different perspective enlightening another. So let all opinions roll
