the stock size is 2" diam and its not that restrictive based on dynos performed by speedlab and have nothing to do with the exhaust smoke. i upgraded to a bigger 2.5" diam size and no significant improvement in terms of power and reducing the smoke. the smoke problem was solved by blanking the egr

Bro, I'm sure at idle or low rpm/part throttle the smoke will have more to do with something else. But at wide open throttle/high rpm/high load I bet it will still smoke with the stock 2" pipes. In those conditions I'm sure your 2.5" exhaust is much better. I really should've backed up my links to exhaust sizing theory.

My pickup has a 3" exhaust and it is overkill. I actually lost some low range torque. I would've used 2.5" - 2.75" if I could do it over again.

Mga Sirs balak ko bumili ng 2nd hand mont glx MT by year 2022 (5 years fm now). Kakakuha ko lng kc brand new ecosport trend mt nong dec. So ang plano ko by year 2022 magiging dalawa na tsikot ko.i retain ko na lng ecosport ko baka kc mababa resale value nya. Hindi pa kc ako nakaranas mag SUV. My previous nissan sentra 98, vios 05 at current ecosport. So guys ano kaya ang future issues ( kung meron) ang 5 year old mont glx mt? Syempre pag 5 years lumalabas na mga sakit? Hindi kaya ako gagastos ng malaki kung sakali? Nabasa ko kc d2 sa thread na maraming positive issues ang model 2016/ 2017 na mont.

Its useless to preoccupy our minds with these Euro2. Euro3, euro4 ek ek.

Eh sa jeepney lang eh, gusto ng LTFRB i-phaseout ang 15 year dilapidated jeepneys, tingen ko puro death threat na yun mga opisyal na pipirma ng order na yun. Lets face it, we cannot control the PUV industry here coz the operstors themselves are former top ranking policemen and miltary personnel. If not, ginagawa naman sila front.

I think before we truly implement these strict regulations, baka mauna pa magka-coup dito sa'tin.

We Filipinos dont care for our environment, and we dont care for the safety of our citizens. So good luck on wishing for first world type of regulations.

Just rely on karma na lang, malay nyo yun mga ayaw mag-upgrade ng engine, sya or yun pamilya tamaan ng lung cancer sa future. Yun mga ayaw gawin safe yun mga PUVS, sila mabangga sa dashcam diairies.

What goes around comes around, it's a more powerful force than say lobbying sa gobyerno.

Euro 4 patawa and they say they're gonna implement sa L300FB daw. Lokohin nyo tumbong nyo. Sa L300 implement, pero sa jeepney at buses hindi.

4N1X engine series where the 4N15 engine of montero was patterned is designed to comply with euro5 standard but since our fuel standard is euro4 only, mitsubishi have no other recourse but to detune the engine in order to accommodate euro4 diesel otherwise the original engine design will be ruined

So it wont be as clean as advertised with euro5 standard in mind

By year 2022, mas mabile na ang bagong Mitsubishi Adventure Sport na mukhang maliit na diesel crossover. So ba't ka pa bibile ng luma eh makakuha na nun ng brand new asventure sport

for discount, it seems that the price to beat is 145k, all over Metro Manila apparently. We got ours at Citimotors Alabang.

It seems you already made up your mind. Congratulations on not being hypnotized by the T badge. That's always the case, most folks I asked why the current Fortuner G better than Montero GLS/GLS premium, the answer is "it's a Toyota!", or "it sells better, 3x that of Montero" ... cmon... really that's it?

For the top variant, that's where it is even for me but for the mid variant, no contest! unless you absolutely can't take Montero's looks.

What's the highest discount for a GLS Premium? Is it also 145K?

They say people buy the Fort because of it's reliability, easy maintenance, etc. But I believe Mitsu cars are just as reliable as Toyotas (after having owned a Lancer and Pajero in the past). That is why we are choosing the Monty and we will reserve a unit within this month.
For the Monty owners here, do you have any major regrets after buying one?

No regrets here after owning the 2011 glsv and now the 2016 gls. Easy for me and my wife to drive, and even my 4-year old loves the seat configuration with the 3rd row set up and the middle row folded. Feeling niya nasa van siya.

regrets? (1) we should've gotten in sooner, when the price is lower and 200k discounts are being offered. I don't think I will miss the additions on 2017 models and (2) should've gotten the gls premium (may stock na kasi ng gls, at nanghinayang sa 133k price diff hehe)

other than that it's performing as I expected and more. dad has the previous non-vgt model and comparing how the new one drives, the new one is way better. I know, unfair comparing a non vgt but just to lay it out there. And oh, that car has never had any major problem for 7 years now, so check for reliability.

comparing to a crdi vgt kia carens (to me one of the most underrated in terms of performance) that we own for 9+ years, it's just as peppy when overtaking on long straits but better.

comparing to the current Fortuner, to me Montero Sports has better handling and the better engine shows. Ride is closer to my preference (softer than Fortuner, but a tad too soft, for me MU-X nailed the right balance).

Disclaimer : although I compared other SUVs doesn't mean I think Fortuner and other SUVs are bad. All these SUVs are good (panalo tayong consumers), it's just a matter of preference.

No major because the Monty is the best overall. One thing I dont like is the engine idle noise. The everest sound more peaceful on idle. But overall the Monty is the best

My 6 months old Monty keeps on reminding me regarding the periodic maintenance that I need to do which I already did a month ago for the 5,000 kns PMS.

I think I have read ready somewhere in this thread on how to remove the reminder from the dashboard and HU. I tried backreading and I wasn't able to find the page. Anyone here who happen to know how to do it?
