Cash and Bank PO yung discount. My agent is giving me 150k discount for the GLS 2017 and 145k for the GLS Premium 2016.

Although cash ito not Bank PO.

Anyway, thanks everyone for your responses.

Do you actually believe the forts would be a classic? Its like saying the corolla/vios taxi's would become a collectors item due to its prestige.

Fortuner, Montero, Everest, other PPVs are now pang masa suvs. Even call center agents can easily buy one, heck even a 25yr old programmer like me was able to buy a gls prem (30% dp - 3yrs to pay though). What more for those ofws and other professionals from the middle class.

The rich are now staying away from the entry level sedans/suvs because the masa and middle incomes are buying them like pan cakes due to those all in promos.

I cannot agree more with your statement paps... These midsize SUV's are the Tamaraw, Hi-Lander and Adventure of the 90's. Kahit sino halos meron na... Pang masa is the right word..

back in the 60s, this was sold like a MASA car. how came it has cult following now?

now who here watch Narcos by Netflix? most of Escobar's men used the Land Cruisers of the 70's, 80s and early 90s. these cars if sold here are still peddling at not lower than 900K.

the problem kasi is you are associating the current Fort to the first gen Fort. The first gen Fort is not a fully-designed SUV, it's based on the IMV project of Toyota a decade ago. but the New Fortuner is based on the LC Prado. and this is what most toyota sales agent pitch since the start selling of the Fort last year. also explains why Toyota sold more than 3,000 units in Jan 17 alone, while the 2nd placer Everest in Jan only sold 700+ units. it's not the T badge, it's the LC association.

Yes, if ANY of these masa suvs are still in a salvageable condition after 50yrs+ ofcourse they'll have a following. Imagine driving a 2016 fort in 2060. Haha. The value you are paying for is not in the engineering anymore, but for its historical value/antiqueness/uniqueness. It would only happen in a car once its numbers went down and the years went up.

And I've accompanied a friend in 2 toyota casas to check the fort and no agent mentioned those prado stuff. :D most of them just mentioned the quotes and basic specs.

If you base it on sales, then I would assume the vios is based on a toyota supercar due to its sales figures.

For me, its really in the badge, if toyota, mitsu, ford would release a new car on the same segment today and tell me to pick one for free, I would 100% pick a toyota always without seeing any specs, design, etc.

On topic: I still have this black smoke problem on my gls prem whenever Im a bit hard on the gas (2.2k-2.5k rpm, gear 2-5). This was not the case when it was still less than 5k kms. 15k milleage now, casa maintained.

Pa balik mo sa casa. Could be a boost leak, dirty filter, maf, map sensor, egr, vgt solenoid, etc...

:| citimotors alabang. Haha.

I'm only using casa mineral oil since every 5k naman ang balik and atleast 1k per month ako so 5-6months ang pms, mas ok ba if mag semi synthetic ako?

If di parin mag improve after 15k pms, mag pacheck nako outside casa for opinions. Haha.
