^^^ ASX & CX-5 not in the same class / segment.
Worst case scenario would be Metro manila traffic so its the city fuel consumption that matters most. Its 9.4L/100km vs 8L/100km. If you dirve 100km per week. 75 pesos per week difference. Breakeven pag patay ka na. Lol
It's known as the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport in Europe and Australia. and yes, it's the XV's direct rival, in a category all their own: sedan crossovers. A lot of reviews can be found under that name.
Thus, it's a bit inappropriate to compare them to baby SUV's like the Tucson, Sportage, CX5,& CRV.

The ASX didn't sell well before because it was priced too high, maybe the new pricing scheme will lure some buyers.
Agree. The new prices are close to most 2.0 TOTL sedans so with this one boasting of a higher ride than those sedans, the price point is a really good proposition.
Even malaysians say it now competes with the altis. New price also in Malaysia

DRIVEN: Mitsubishi ASX - now CKD and great value
mga 3 yrs p ako mkakabili haha..ipon ipon muna may discount nmn pagfull payment diba?.. pero kung space lng pinguusapan,, saan nio ba gagamitin ung sasakyan nio? bkit ba space lng? dapat performance at price.. pgdrive nio ba marami laging cargo? or dami kayong isasakay?? hindi nmn ata... hehe bili nlng pickup truck
Importante ang space for comfort and movement.whenever you need additional space for passengers, mas important yung maluwag.when you dont need it,its still good to have folded seats..sadyang madami at iba ibang preference.why you buy somewhat smaller suv kung sedan lang kailangan mo? Or buy a bigger than sedan,it would be CUV.but not smaller than CUV.not practical i think

To have higher ground clearance and because it's cheaper than regular CUVs. If we go by your logic, everyone should be driving a Ford Expedition. Some people need / want smaller vehicles with high ground clearance (Ford Ecosport comes to mind), it's cheaper, consumes less fuel. To each his own.

Frustrating that they don't have a test drive unit yet...no definite info on when it'll be available, according to a dealer/manager I talked to...how can one decide to get one (like me), even if he's very interested, if he hasn't even tried driving it?
[QUOTE=Bogeyman;2414000]Standard yan across all dealerships.
And there's always the van... Or pickup... if space and burden are more obvious requirements...
As a "sport" crossover, the Asx and its equally sized competitors were originally intended to cruise the regular roads with a bit of off-reading ability, thus the higher than usual ground clearance, heavier and stronger chassis built to withstand higher than normal shocks and bumps you won't allow your standard car to suffer from. Light trailing, beaches, hillwork and such where you'd bring along your mountain bike of surfboard or camera gear are the ideal utilities for this vehicle type
Would you like to see your bride driven to your wedding in one of these? For the majority: Of course not! These don't proposition 'formal' as one of their attributes. Thus their difference from 5-seater c-segment sedans. And 'luxury' vehicles. Hope this helps differentiate the sedan crossover, in my words at least.

Got a chance to see it kanina sa carworld Tarlac, wala sila stock sa GLS pero may nagpa 1k PMS na new release, space is enough for a single guy like me, cargo space is decent, i can say sa features and pricing, value for money sya, in comparison to a TiTanium Variant Ecosport, Reasonably price sya na more than 100k kase may paddle shifter, cruise control and powerfolding mirrors and head unit and the additional space and headroom
