Pwede rin sa point just before the EGR valve, according to sir GO1 isang point lang at yun ay yung point before the EGR cooler and no use blanking the other points kasi once na blocked na yung isang point wala ng exhaust gas na papasok sa EGR system, maybe maselan ang 4D56 so it required 3 point blanking.

sa 4d56 naman 1 point lang din needed. the EGR system of both engines are basically the same. location lang magkaiba.

sa 4m41 for ease of access, pre cooler din pwede. as pointed out by zix.

Getting our first Mitsubishi vehicle, Montero Glx A/t non vgt.
Had experiances with Toyotas / Fords / Nissans prior. (current ride is a Ford Escape)
Ask ko lang, how's review of Diamond Motors Greenhills (beside POEA fronting Poveda)
SA & SM were great and very accomodating, how's aftersales kaya... we'll be getting delivery of unit this tuesday or wednesday.

Have read thru almost the whole thread, very informative !!... am interested in some of the mods once I have my unit.

1) Optitron? (the backlight for the gauges)
2) OCC
3) K&N filters
4) Cabin filter
5) EGR blanking (do i need it immediately? of course my SA said no need)
6) Mod chips

Prioritize EGR blanking. Just did EGR blank at 37T kms. If you can only see all the carbon deposits, you'll understand. Cleaned as much as we could but there are places that are quite hard to reach already.

I'd skip the K&N filter though, had it before. It's just not suitable for our dusty environment.

Point noted on the EGR blank.... however, it's said that it triggers CEL.
I don't understand why they (manufacturers) used EGRs in diesel engines (to lower emission I suppose)
In gas fed engines I know they are not an issue.

I had an old school diesel assembled wrangler once, change oil / linis exhaust before rehistro lng katapat nun. Lusong thigh and at times waist deep yun.
How high sa baha ang kaya ng Montero.. how high is the ECU and all the electrical and computers gadgets located?

"Monty" will be a project I intend to enjoy.
Hindi naman sya masyado bugbog coz meron sya karelyebo as service.... 3 times a week max lng cguro sya home-office-home (25kms)
Of course I'll enjoy him most in out-of-town trips.
Oh, and I intend to only use Unioil Euro4 (feedback here is that it gives the best and cleanest performance)

Got the license plates na. WQI xxx.. noticed that the plates have different hole distance compared to the older ones. Had to drill a new hole so that it would fit.

+1 ako dito. Im one of those na nagpa-blank ng EGR and di naman nag CEL yun unit ko. We have done the EGR blanking yesterday courteously of sir zixx.

In addition and just to share the experience, we manage to drive our monty along EDSA (maluwag ang daan from Munoz to GMA-Kamuning). At first, mausok but eventually nawala. Siguro mga tira pa eto sa exhaust pipe ko. Big change na talaga from the original setup (KN Filter, EGR blanking and change oil using FS). Salamat sa mga ka-tsikot natin na weeling to share their mods for the benifits of other member (madami dito na ganun).

BTW, sir zixx, nagawa ko maipasok sa loob ng fuse box yun line from DRL, medyo mahirap, tama ka, trial and error. hehehe. Medyo matagal but worth it naman. Thanks.
