March 29th, 2014 07:14 PM #5364Does anyone of you have experienced this?
I have a Monty GTV 2012. Recently, I have sent my unit to DMVV to have my unit checked. The issue here is that whenever I make a hard acceleration (heavy stepping on the accelerator pedal) around 3rd-5th gear (40kph or more) then suddenly releasing it, I hear a weird sound at the rear part of the vehicle, more like the sound of something that is slashing or rubbing. I have already checked the tires and the backing plates, all were fine. Their SA even claimed that this is not an isolated case, as some other units also have this issue but nothing to worry much about. Well, I'm more worried now as I didn't experience this on our other cars and the faint sound have already become more noticeable. I would like to hear some thoughts on this from other monty owners, especially to those who are familiar with this. Thanks a lot.

I posted the same comment here like months ago. I experienced the same during hard acceleration and releasing the pedal...but not all the time. I let Citimotors Makati to check and they even boasted that the lead guy who will look was the most expert one. Guess what the lead guy told me...it's my OCC daw. Tsk tsk.
Since I cannot accept their feedback and blaming a canister for the sound...I personally talked to the guy. Guess what...he said it was the OCC for sure though he cannot even tell me what was it and what it is for. Net, he was lazy to check and just assumed that was it.
It didn't end there...I went back the following weekend but this time, I removed the OCC just to prove my point. Good thing they didn't remember me as I talk to the same guy. Again...he assumed another one without even driving it.
This made me realize how competent (sobra) and hardworking the guys who look after our units sa Casa. Tsk tsk tsk.

Btw...we have the same unit. I let the Citimotors check everything under the unit but found nothing. I will probably request another check on my next PMS checkup with another shop for which I will still have to decide.

Just to be clear. Di ko nilalahat. I guess I was talking to the wrong people and with the wrong shop.
