NOthing should hold you back from buying the GLX, its a more than capable SUV I think wala ka naman magiging problem kahit gano pa kalayo ung lalakbayin ng auto mo as long as well maintained and specially brand new pa ung kukuhanin mo. so go ahead and be one of the happy monty owners HTH

hi guys! i'll be getting my 1st ever ride this coming sat. - d' Montero Sports GLS-V A/T, after taking a lot of considerations on which ride i'll be getting finally I end up with monty.
Few questions, I'm getting a black variant, di ba sir mahirap maintain this color specially sa mga watermarks & scratches, I've been thinking of getting some of the latest color variant but then again on top of mind lagi, astig pag black! hehe
nwei few points i want to clear, when using A/T, my dealer is saying around 18km/L (highway) & 14km/L (city driving), is this really true?
for now those are the few questions in my mind, as soon as i get my monty this sat., for sure mas marami pa ko inquiries sa mga expert dito? TIA.
btw, any monty group/org. here at laguna area? calamba area lng ako pero mas madalas sa paseo sta.rosa. hehe. Appreciate if u'll include me in ur regular EB's. thanks! more power to the monty owners!

thats not true sir at least for me. usually mga 6-7km/l lang ako sa city driving and 9-10.7 sa highway and take note i never really go beyond 2000rpm. but this should not make you back away from purchasing the monty still a good buy if not the best. And im not sure if merong A/T na SUV na ganyan katipid. SA 2011 XUV Crosswind (which is manual) namin, 14km/l lng sa hiway. Pero you also have to consider your driving habits and the load of course. If you would read back thats one of the questions i posted since im only getting around 6-7km/l sa city driving using my monty gls-v at, and based sa mga reply dito at sa ibang forums seems normal naman un

i drive a manual gls-v and get between 9-9.5 kms/liter city driving (actual). mid reading is 10 kms/liter. definitely better consumption than a manual innova vvt-i by at least 1-2 kms/liter. i also got the 15++km/liter consumption from my SA (lab conditions, i think). very good compromise of power and fuel efficiency.

    congratulations on your new ride!

just one thing i noticed since having the monterosport is the extra careful effort in parking the vehicle. always be security-minded, consider paid, secured, covered parking all the time if possible. also when leaving the car for valet parking, bring the car's papers with you (its in one mitsubishi jacket envelope anyway).

+1 ako dito sir, the best FC I got on my monty was 15km/L (ave RPM approx 1200, aircon off, outside temp based sa display 27C since 12AM yun so no traffic except sa stop lights, ako lng laman nung monty, from mabuhay rotonda to Petron NLEX with matching release sa accelerator pag downhill yung grade) but my average FC is somewhere near as mentioned above.
I am no mechanic but if your monty is new and if you will research some proper break in procedures ( pwede ka magback read o search mo sa internet pero dapat selective ka sir) medyo di mo talaga priority FC ni monty since mabababy mo sya and marerealize mo yung real FC nya once it is already broken in (I believe that the break in period ng diesel engines is approx 8-10K miles)

During my 1km pms, hindi naman ni-reprogram ecu ng gls-v at ko, im sure about this since from start to finish pinapanuod ko ung paggawa sa auto ko. gumamit lang sila ng MUT(laptop for checking the system/ecu of the vehicle) kasi sabi ko masyadong malakas sa gas and i ensist na icheck nila. they just checked kung may leakage etc...

*boogielloyd & butchyboy - thanks mga bro sa reply. i installed myself an OEM aircon filter. So far i havent really tested if it will decrease the outside smell pagdating sa mga situation na ganun. i hope yes. medyo nainis lang ako kasi after i replaced the glove box, it seems medyo lumaki yun gap ng glove box with the dashboard sa upper right side.

*machx - we have the same thing in mind pare when it comes to black and yes, medyo mahirap sya i-maintain for scratches and swirl marks/water marks are right away visible to them. all you need to do is really protect it with wax to have that layer of protection on top of the paint. as to your query about fuel consumption, how i wish it was really like that. however, i normally have an average of 6-7kms city drive and 9-10kms on a high way. fuel consumption really depends on how hard you step on the pedal, the distance you will travel and traffic you have on your way. at times, i was able to go home with an average of 9.3kms/litter pero sobrang nainip ako sa bilis ko. hehehe.

Of course no doubt about it, its the vgt engine. Had an old starex before and a grand starex vgt and even with bigger body of the GS, its still more fuel efficient than the old starex. So i am presuming it would be the same for the monty. Plus the fact that vgt engine produces more power and torque than non vgt engine. Hth sir perry

Mas efficient po ang VGT na monty dahil wala siyang turbo lag pati 5-speed tranny po siya sir.

awaiting feedback here also about the alarm. the manual for the alarm which came with the unit refers to a valet switch and a valet mode? but our keys have only the lock and unlock buttons and the car manual does not mention a valet mode. i wonder if the manual is for the alarm installed? it says " PA130P2-V4 MANUAL FOR KEYLESS ENTRY UPGRADE SYSTEM". do you have the same?

    thanks a lot
