2012 Montero Sport Owners

ive got a montero gtv 2012 as i used it yesterday i heard a series of beeps but no indicator lights up in the panel or dashboard. it beeps 10 times then it stops and comes back on after a couple of minutes. It does a couple of cycles then beep becomes faster for around 20 beeps again after a couple of minutes and so on.

Has anyone experienced this issue before? what may be the probable cause of the issue?.

Pretty sure it's the TPMS module. Baka hindi na gumagana yung TPMS sa tires mo. I had mine unplugged nalang since, afaik, disposable yung oem TPMS na nakalagay sa loob ng gulong. Nasa ilalim ito banda sa tapat ng steering wheel.

Just guessing....

Maybe it's the passenger-side seatbelt warning? Did you put a heavy object on the passenger seat? The system could be mistaking it for the weight of a person but with the seatbelt unbuckled.

AFAIK, wala pong seatbelt warning ang GTV 2012. At least yung sa amin wala. I could be wrong pero I'd love to have this feature as well sana. I'm 101% sure it's the TPMS module from my first hand experience.

What did/are you using for the ATF of your MS? Ours is 2015, before the current model.

Manual states Mitsu ATF SPIII. Any equivalent/replacement ATF for this?

Thanks sir, I will try to check it. Isa din hinala ko is nagloloko na ang sensor ng seatbelt sa driver’s seat. Kasi nag try ako hindi gamitin ang seatbelt eh hindi na nag aalarm.

You can check ebay for just the casing. You can also check key duplicators if they only have the casings and you can even convert to flipkey. Keynamicsph in fb duplicate keys but is expensive. You can just transfer the transponders to the new casing and then have the key duplicated.

nag-inquire na ako sa keynamics, 5k/pc & sa winterpine, 1500/pc. both pricey... not familiar with immobilizer. pero sabi nila nasa susi daw yung immobilizer ng unit ko kaya hindi pwedeng basta i-duplicate.

ask ko lang po sir for my 2009 monter GLS 2.5, bale po nag pa change coolant ako kanina full drain, ngayon pinalitan top 1 coolant (1 liter) po ang nilagay then distilled water po (2 liters) lang po ang na karga ilang beses na din pinisil pisil rad hose ehh ganun parin po pa unti unti lang nalagay na distiled. pag dating ko ng bahay pinalamig unti makina to add water ehh parang di nman po nag bawas, Tama po ba to? ang alam ko kasi abot to 6 liters. not sure pero ganun kasi sa vios ko so not familiar po sa diesel engine.

Has anyone experienced unusual noise on the transmission when downshifting or when lifting the throttle? I have a 2012 GLSV model with 110K mileage. I started hearing this a few weeks ago. It is noticeable when you are in manual mode and you rev-up and lift on the throttle before up-shifting. But I first heard the noise when in automatic and coming down and incline when it sort of engaged engine brake and there was an unusual noise.

is it a whistling sound? if yes then baka yung wastegate ng turbo sa bandang harapan yung sumisipol hindi sa transmission. i maybe wrong since 110k kms na unit and you hear the sound lang kamo few weeks ago, unless its a used unit...

No it's not a whistling sound..it's more like something mechanical that is loose or gears that are not latching correctly. It's not very loud but you can hear it especially when the radio is off. And it comes out only when you rev high while moving and lifting the throttle where it somewhat engine brakes. it does not come out when you rev it high when standstill where you can hear the turbo whistling...and it's not a used unit, I've had it brand new.

i see. it might be an issue with the clutch or transmission then. have it check by your trusted mechanic or casa.

i have the same year unit (gtv 2012) at close to 190k kms but i don't experience such thing.

No turbo timer installed. Everything is stock except for tires and batteries and unit is casa-maintained.

Hi Zixx - after hearing sound compilation of turbo flutter on youtube, the sounds are similar to what I am hearing. I do hope there's nothing wrong with the transmission or anything. But I will observe. Question: how come I have not heard this before and it started only recently?
