Simple lang naman yan, just feed your rig base from its design. Vgt montys are built euro IV , so gas up where there is euro IV. Problem lang kung ang lugar mo eh walang station that carries euro IV diesel. Shell, petron and caltex definitely carry only euro II diesel, but if it works for you, then good, pero definitely you are not feeding your rig the right diesel it needs.

When I got my monty 1 year ago, it had the smoke issue but it was resolved with a reprogramming done by the casa. My first full tank was shell regular diesel because it was a freebie. I then filled it up with vpower as my second full tank. That is when I noticed too much smoke and the smell of fumes is terrible. After that, I tried seaoil and I experienced HUGE improvement on smoke emission and the smell of fumes improved a lot. The engine has less noise too and runs smoother. I never filled up my monty with any other fuel other than seaoil ever since. Up to now, I have no problems with my unit.
My egr was cleaned as part of the routine 15k PMS and the carbon deposits found was minimal.
Just a tip, hataw nyo si monty at least once a week to get rid of carbon deposits.

It seems that seaoil's diesel is good since euro 5 daw ito. Is this true?
Dito kaya sa province euro 5 din kaya ang diesel nila sa seaoil particularly here in pampanga?

It was euro 5 before but recently it became euro 3 nalang. Still, it is a lot better than the euro 2 diesel that the big 3 are offering. I would like to shift to unioil's euro 4 diesel but there in no unioil dealer in my area so stick with seaoil muna ako.

Regarding diesel fuel for the Montero Sport, I asked Mr. Froilan Dytianquin, MMPC Vice President for Marketing Services. This is his reply:

With regards to your query, we have not issued any official instructions to our dealers to discourage use of Shell Power Diesel or Petron Turbo Diesel for that matter. It's also not true that these 'power diesels' will damage the engine. I am not sure about its properties but if the additives in these fuel will make it have slightly higher cetane numbers, then it is supposed to make the engine start quickly (cold starts) as it is better for combustion at the same time improve fuel economy. I would also assume that there will be an advantage in maintenance, since it may not build up so much carbon deposits with better combustion versus ordinary diesel. But apparently, the quality of the diesel, particularly the sulfur content is still the same as ordinary diesel.

Based on personal experience though, I have not noticed any significant performance on my Montero since I have used this 'power diesel', making me realize that the premium price I paid for this diesel fuel was not worth it. Since then I shifted back to ordinary diesel.

I believe that the significant performance and low emission level we always want for CRDi engines can only be realized when fuel companies come up with 'real' Euro-4 compliant diesel. Based on the government's plan, emission level of brand new vehicles should comply to Euro-4 four years from now and correspondingly mandating fuel companies to introduce Euro-4 compliant diesel by 2015.

    Again thanks for writing.

    Best regards,

    sir bogeyman,
As a favor maybe you can ask Mr. Dytianquin to check DIAMOND MOTORS Q.A, because everyone there from the mechanic, warranty guy, SA have repeatedly told me not to use VPOWER and petron turbo diesel, i have all the names of these people and i also have proof that they have told me not to use these premium diesels.
They say the use of these DIESELs are the main cause of JERKING and BLACK SMOKE on my MS.
Right now i have no choice but to follow their instructions because under warranty pa ang MS ko.
    Thanks in advance.

The best sir, ang linis niya.

Guys, in the MS with the standard security alarm dealer option, is the LED indicator (beside the side mirror folding switch) always on with a blue light? Is there a way to turn it off while I'm driving? Thanks!
