Bakit nga ba maganda ang EuroIV for crdi engines? At first gamit ko sa monty ko shell fuel save. Nung nagfull throttle ako from rest, napansin ko na may gray smokes. That's when I tried using unioil euroiv. Okay naman. Wala pa naman akong nakikitang smokes even at full throt.

Let me give you an overview regarding the variant you're interested in, the MS GLX-V Limited

The 2012 GLX-V Limited is a manual 4x2 tranny with a 2.5 Liter 4 in-line DOHC 16-valve Variable Geometry Tuborcharge (VGT) and intercooled Direct Injection Diesel (4D56) engine. The engine itself is the same with the GLS-V variant except the latter has an automatic tranny. GLX-V Limited is limited in a sense that mitsubishi later stopped it's production late 2012 after releasing 500 units distributed to mitsu dealers nationwide. That's why it was called LIMITED.

    Regarding your query:

    1. Is the price stated by the seller fair for a 2012 model?
A: For me, it's fair considering the year model. Somehow you've got to know how long it's been running, the mileage. Is there any add-ons? accessories added? Exterior and interior condition especially the engine? How was it maintained?
    2. How would I know if the one being sold is the GLX-V version? What is the model number? Also, is there a LIMITED version?
Please refer above overview. You should be able to see the "GLX-V LIMITED' logo or emblem (I don't know what they call it) on the tailgate. It has side moulding similar with the GLS-Vs and GTVs. The tailgate must have the body cladding. The spare tire should have a cover.
    3. What is the going rate of this variant?
I would suggest you ask multiple opinions on the trending rate. Mr. Google can be very helpful. Let's see some inputs of other owners here. Just don't be over excited of having one hell of an SUV like Montero . Take your time in choosing one.

Hope this helps on your quest. Stay safe.
Thank you sir for your inputs. Very helpful. Just to add, the mileage is around 5000kms. The body is stock and no other add-ons. I just noticed that the spare tire does not have any cover. What do you mean sir that the tailgate should have a body cladding? Sorry Im not familiar with a body cladding.

    Thank you!

As I mentioned the price is fair enough. Now that's something, the odo is just 5k km. Well, if you can haggle lesser on the price, then you're hitting a jackpot. The variant you are referring and intending to buy is GLX non-VGT. Examine below pic to distinguish between the GLX non-VGT and the GLX-V Limited. I guess the pic will speak for itself the aesthetic diff between the two. I don't have any pic on the interior and the side mirror of a non-VGT (with side turn lamp). Basically, this is all I got for your perusal.

the same observation with my MS, dapat sana may coating man lang manufacturing the same with other parts.. nkakapagtaka lang din. Kung sakali mag cause ng problem dapat siguro recall ng planta yan at no cost to owners.. In fairness this VGT is really effective against sa turbo lag... with matching paddle shift pa for manual gear, bilis mag overtake.

thinking of spraying a heat resistant spray which can withstand a 1000F temp. but will raise this matter on next pms before doing so.

i think turbo housings are commonly not painted due to paints will not stand the extreme heat, same as the exhaust manifold and downpipes.

just brush it thoroughly with Turco Rust Converter (Ace Hardware), let it stand cold for 4-6hrs, no need to paint it, kasi kasi mag-crack lang kahit VHT paint pa...

tried & tested w/ my previous cr-v's 421 header, rusted like hell when i accidentally peeled off a small portion of its thermal wrapping.
