    hi sir, I have exactly the same problems as you had with the lights and the sudden jerk going on an incline. I have the same 2010 4x2 model.mI tried to do a search from the threads but I'm not sure if others had these problems as well. May idea po ba ang mga Monty gurus about this? Anybody else having these issues?

    Regarding headlight intensity, kung kaunti lang naman yung pagliwanag, wala naman problem yan.
    It only means na yung voltage generated ng alternator tumaas ng kaunti kasi lalong bumilis yung pagikot.
    Ang masama, kapag hindi naging stable yung generated voltage.
    i.e, as your rpm increases gradually, headlight intensity also increases gradually.
    Pero kung hindi naman yan ang scenario, ok lang yan.

    Regarding naman sa pag jerk along an incline, is this kapag nag downshift siya?
    I had mine before, pero biglang nawala. nilinis ng casa yung egr pati intake manifold kasi nag ka cel din ako nun.
    Now wala na yung jerk specially new na atf ko.

    Hi mga sirs, been reading this thread for several weeks na. From page 1 til last page. Very good forum. Anyway, last month I bought a second hand MS 2009 GLS SE Gemstone gray ang color. So far I'm very happy with it. Very powerful compared to the 2001 Fieldmaster that I have been using( which I plan to sell na). Nasa 22k lng km reading Nya at Amoy bago pa sa loob. Original owner Kase uses it seldomly bec of too many cars. No black smoke so far and I'm using petro dmax. La kase Lapit na sea oil or unioil. Now I plan to place a aircon filter. Btw question po, in engaging from 2WD to 4WD say going to 4H LNG. Wat is the proper proces? Followed the manual pero blinking LNG yang lights of the front wheels as dashboard. First time user of a 4WD. Tia.

    you need rolling distance para mag stable yung blinking lights. anytime from 0-100kph pwede ka from 2h-4h. but remember, you also need rolling distance going back to 2h

    i will be getting a 2011 GLS V this Monday and finally giving up my 2010 Fortuner. when i was shopping for a unit, there is a seller in sulit selling brand new 2012 GLS VGT with insurance for 1050000 only and paid in cash. the catch is that you get the OR and CR only after two months from a sub dealer. a famous basketball player almost bought one but he was also alarmed. as in nasa loob na sila ng bangko at nagbabayaran na. he just let go of his 5k deposit and cancelled the transaction. i asked people in the car trading business and they said its most likely what they call the "talon" scheme. meaning this pseudo sub dealers buy from Mitsu dealers with minimal downpayment and look for quick buyers. they then disappear and it is now your problem to face the bank as they did not pay the balance. very smart, right?

    just be careful everyone.

    Try to confirm if your USB is formatted to FAT32... If not then try to format it first then try again.

    thanks. actually i'm not to worried about the changing headlight intensity compared to the jerking on incline. yes, the tranny down shifts from 2nd to 1st. to eliminate the jerking, i usually go to manual and down shift to 1st myself.

    will try your suggestions to have atf change, egr and intake manifold cleaning. thank you sir.

    Max size so far that it can read is 16GB. Even formatted to FAT32, it wont read the 320GB HDD. What i did is create partitions of 16GB for each type of media (music, movies, etc) on my 60GB HDD. This idea also came from a montyner. ;)

    Ang masama dito, sabi ng mitsubishi, normal lang yan, kasi according to their computer, walang problema. Pero ang lumabas sa testing ko, ang bilis ng voltage drop niya, from 13.8 to 12.5 in just 5 minutes or so. What's worse is that when we went around the casa's motorpool and looked for 2009 and 2010 models, we found two, and both units had the same voltage drop as mine. This was the basis for mitsu casa to say, ganun talaga siya. Sabi ko, hindi lang alam ng may ari nila na may voltage drop sila. Kasi yung isang kaibigan ko na may 2010 montero like mine, hindi nag voltage drop, while I have two friends with the GTV, wala silang voltage drop. Plus another 2011 GLX that the owner I only met at the outside accessory store, wala siyang voltage drop. Yung Strada ko, with the same engine, wala ring voltage drop. I have another car, a local Sportage, wala ring voltage drop.

    I also had the jerking problem checked. Ang sabi ng service manager, according to the computer, the there is no problem. Thus, the jerking is normal. Jerk.

    *altec Sir since you already conducted tests, maaaring tama ka nga. At 12.5V, nadidischarge ba battery mo? Say, humihina na? Try ko imeasure voltage ng amin mamaya.

    *ctiongson *altec Yes, hindi din nadetect ng computer ng mitsu yung problem sa jerking. Nung nafeel ko before yun, takbo agad sa casa. Pero since wala nga reading sa computer, the only way to prove it to them is by letting them experience it. Nangyari rin sa akin yung rough shifting from 3rd to 2nd while running. Hindi din nadetect sa pc yun. Sinwerte nagkaroon ako ng CEL, so they replaced EGR (the 2nd time na magka CEL), clean intake manifold. After that, unti unti nawala jerking. Nagsimula yung problem namin sa jerking and rough shifting around 21K and nawala siya before kami magpa 25K PMS. Im now at 42K and swabe parin shifting.

    *ctiongson check mo muna level ng ATF mo sir. Baka sobra. According to one tsikoteer, sobra daw nailagay na ATF ng factory nung nagpadrain siya e. According sa SMV, it causes shifting problems.

    Sir nabasa ko sa first post mo na 650 lang idle rpm mo. Yung amin around 730 e.
    Check ko mamaya under the hood kung ano ba normal idle speed.

    I've checked the service manual, and it states that idling speed should be 650 +/- 50 rpm. When I checked the metal plate stuck to the hood of the engine bay (lower left when the hood is open), it states 700 +/- 30 rpm. I checked the actual rpm on a cold start and it varies anywhere between 600 to 680 (this is based on an OBD scanner readings using Torque app for android). So it looks like the casa followed the service manual specs. Unfortunately, it looks like 600 rpm is too low for the charging system to be able to produce a stable voltage output. I think they should reset the idling speed to 700 rpm based on the specs on the metal plate.

    looking at the dashboard, kada guhit sa rpm nasa 200rpm increments. yung needle ko nakapatong na sa 600rpm. i will talk to mitsu again to insist based on the hood plate stating 700rpm, although yung sabi nila na nasa specification ako it will only be correct based in the service manual and its really at the minimum. at 600rpm, nagdidischarge siya kada switch on ng load. ezxcept when you switch on the aircon compressor, tataas ang idling rpm. when that happens, steady ang voltage. this just means mababa ang 600rpm.
