I find your some of your questions rather confusing but will try to answer.

Of course the alarm will go off if you open the door with the key, that is what the alarm is for. Why would you use the key when the remote is for opening.

Also, you state that when you lock from inside the alarm activates. Do you mean lock with the remote?

I dont have my MS yet, but I think you can disable or reset the alarm by holding down the button on the blue light whilst turning the key in to ACC and holding hor 10 secs. Am not sure of the exact sequence.
If the blue light is flashing it is armed.

If you ask you casa they will give you a photocopy of the alarm manual.
    thank you sir Expatio
the casa dont have a spare copy daw hahaha but i will try to go there tom for the tutorial hahaha

what i mean sir is while inside the car the key in the ignition ACC position i accidentally close the door and manually locked it inside while i am inside the car, and after ten seconds the alarm sounds then i tried using the remotes unlock button still the alarm didnt stop.

    Good everning everyone

I've been lurking around this thread since ordering our white Monty GTV from Citimotors last February and finally the waiting is about to end as we're finally receiving the unit tomorrow . First of all thank you for making this thread very informative and accommodating for new Monty owners like us. Second, I just have a few questions re. our coming Monty as I'm really really excited about the SUV and I'm starting to list a few mods I want to do as soon as it arrives.

    1. Can I get away with the stock rust proofing of the casa? or should I just opt for heavy duty rust proofing right away?
    2. I've read that the GTV comes with HID (low beams I think) already, does anyone know the kelvin ratings of these? I'm planning to change everything including fog lamps to HIDs as I am a true believer of them as long as they are setup properly. What kind of lamps do I need? I.e. Telescopics? Single lamps? Double lamps?
    3. This one I just thought of right now and I'm not even sure it's even possible, but has anyone tried changing position lamps (dim lights before switching to low beams) to white LEDs?
    4. Has anyone tried chroming the stock mags? The design of the stock mags actually looks good and complements the personality of the car very well. it's just that the stock painted/powder coated look seems too "normal" . I'm also sure it's going to be cheaper than buying branded mags for the car if it can be done.

Thanks in advance and more power to Monty users.

    Kevin

The 3-MID for the 2011 MS can be installed on the 2010 MS. Not possible for the 2008/9 releases. Just inquired on this and it cost ~87k but wala pang stock. Winterpine does not sell the 3-MID directly to the customers but only to MMPC, if ever mas mura sana.

If ever you are able to change the alarm programming, please share naman as this is also my experience. It seems that the MMPC installed Code Alarm only gets the trigger from the door locks when it closes and not the other way around.

another one is i locked the door using the key and not the remote because i dont want to trigger the alarm and just want to lock the doors, but when i tried to unlock it using again the key the alarm sounds.

If I were to spend 87K, I would rather buy:

A good DVD HU (The OEM HU's sound quality sucks and I needed to buy an external processor to improve the sound), Pioneer retails for 24K then buy a Garmin GPS + another 3rd party monitoring tool that looks that provides you with the same information found in the MID that can integrate into the DVD HU. This will still come out way cheaper than what Winterpine sells and you would still have a lot to spare to upgrade your sound system.

My Casa was going to put on some cheap brand tint. Their fitters do not have any 3M CS20 or CS35 in stock sa Tacloban.
So I will take my car out tomorrow without tinting and have it tinted when getting 1,000km service. (I live 4 hours+ from Casa).

Do you guys think CS35 for the windshield and CS20 for the rest is a good idea?

*Expatio, the CS20/35 combination would be nice for the black MS but had used CS5/20 combination though, personal preference lng...

Not so much personal preference, but rather a safety issue. Here in the provences there are many bicycles, Motor trikes, cars, trucks, multicabs, jeepneys and even large buses that think turning their lights on at night is optional or a Christmas thing.

I recently acquired the new Montero Sport 4x4 GT-V, quartz brown color. As we are a big family, the 7 seats will be used most of the time leaving insufficient space for cargo. The only solution I could think of is to install a roof rack carrier. My sisters say they have not seen yet a Montero Sport with such carrier, and it may not look good. Will appreciate the thoughts/suggestions of kind members here. If I finally decide to install a roof rack carrier, what would be the best one for the Montero? Thanks in advance.

For day to day driving there should be enough space, as I am sure you saw before purchase. If you were to take the family on vacation, you could indeed buy a roof box and take it off when you return. I think Carryboy does one.

Sir Expatio, thank you so much for the fast response. I think such a roof box as you mentioned is a practical solution; will try to find one. I forgot to mention we would normally use the Montero to/from the province at least monthly with some luggages.

Back in Europe, Kamei and Thule would be considered the best brands
