Most probably it will...I think its a marketing move...kala ng maraming pinoy 2.0 equals malakas sa gas...madami ako kakilala gustong gusto ang Lancer kaso yun nga mga walang alam sa kotse pag nalamang dos litros ayaw na. So tingin ko yun ang tatargetin ng Mitsubishi..mga type ang overall package ng Lancer kaso takot sa dos litros.

It would result in a similar FC numbers because the 2.0 and 1.6 engine will be hauling nearly the same weight and same traffic conditions. The 2.0L will actually get better FC numbers if the car is driven more on the open highway.

Alam ko din 1.6 eh...
Mysource is the SA who told me they dont have stocks anymore of the 2.0 ex glx since the plant has stopped production of the 2.0, and now starting with the 1.6 which will be available next month.

aw so aalisin nila yung 2.0L? afaik yung iphaphase out is yung old cedia body glx and gls.

2012 Mazda3 is out, but no manual variant yung 2.0 engine. Probably pati yung focus and civic, a/t lang yung 2.0 variants.

Have you tried the Diamond dealership at valle verde? They had a ex-glx in their showroom.

Yes, sir gh. I paid 5k reservation fee na din sa kanila to reserve na whatever available unit they can find pero wala na daw talaga. I also called all metromanila dealers here http://www.mmpc.ph/dealer.php and pampanga and bulacan na din pero wala talaga.

Sir, if you really prefer 2.0L with M/T, why not try to have a pre-owned Lancer EX GT? It's like the GT-A, without Rockford Fosgate, in manual touch.

Hi Kabayans,

Just ditched my Civic hybrid and got a new Lancer SEi Sportback (NZ version) and i found it fun to drive and a lot cheaper than new Civic with tons of standard features, like leather seats/steering/transmission knob, 6-speed CVT, 16 inch alloy wheels, bluetooth handsfree, front heated seats, 7 airbags, active stability control, traction control etc, fog lamps, auto lights and rain wipers, reverse mirror built-in camera, climate/cruise control, 2.0 mivec engine is quite powerful and economical... key-less entry pa with immobilizer and auto folding side mirrors.

(unfortunately no sunroof and paddle shifter only available in more expensive VRX version with nicer 18" alloy and 2.4 engine)



so far i love the car and worth all the penny spent i'm now dreaming of having ralliart version next hehe, evo is too much :D

If you want a little bit of the ralliart look, you can have the "center bar" of the front grill covered with black vinyl sticker (or painted black). It wouldn't cost you a lot. Anyway, just a suggestion. Enjoy your sportback Lancer!

yup that's something to think about, need to find good local shop who do these mods hopefully warranty won't get voided hehe.
