if its in the 800-850 range baka may laban...ok yan baka maging novelty ang 2.0 units kung sakaling dumami sa kalsada ang 1.6.

1.6-liter Mitsubishi Lancer EX variants to arrive in July
    By Sharleen Banzon — 10 May 2012

As some of you may already know, we reviewed the 1.6-liter Mitsubishi Lancer EX in this month’s Japan Issue. Well, those interested in lining up for one will have to wait a bit more: According to Mitsubishi Motors Philippines, the smaller-engined units of its popular compact sedan won’t be hitting showrooms until July.

There’s some good news, though: For 2012, the four-variant Lancer EX lineup will comprise three 1.6-liter flavors to choose from, with the fourth variant retaining the 2.0-liter engine that the Lancer was launched with in 2008. The smaller lump nets 115hp and 154Nm, while the brawnier mill puts out 153hp and 199Nm, still transmitted by a CVT.

The base 1.6-liter GLX variants will have five-speed manual and four-speed automatic options. The 1.6-liter MX, meanwhile, will be equipped with a four-speed automatic gearbox, as well as features over the GLX such as: a GPS navigation system; two more speakers for a total of six; automatic climate controls; high-gloss black and chrome interior accents; an LCD-type multi-information display in the instrument cluster; front map lamps; and HID headlamps with an adaptive front lighting system and manual levelers.

Incidentally, the 1.6 Lancer EX featured in our current May issue is mistakenly billed as a GLX variant, but is actually an MX.

As for the 2.0-liter Lancer EX GT-A, its range-topping package includes: new-design 18-inch alloy rims; paddle shifters; cruise control; a nine-speaker Rockford Fosgate audio system; front, side, curtain and driver’s knee airbags; aluminum pedals; a sport-type color-keyed front bumper; front and side air dams; and a rear spoiler. Note that it doesn’t get the new eight-inch multimedia touch-screen interface, which means the MX is the only Lancer EX that features a GPS navigation system.

Prices for the new Lancer variants are still unavailable, so watch this space for updates. Meanwhile, check out this photo of the 1.6-liter Lancer's engine bay.

The Lancer's a pretty hefty car, I wonder how a 1.6 would fare in terms of FC compared to the 2-liter variant. It might end up like the Mazda 3.

dapat mas mura yan sa Kia Rio kasi mas naperfect pa ng Kia Rio ang likod lights kaysa yan Lancer.
