I have a 7 y/o son and I can't imagine teaching my child about what a cigarette is, much less encouraging him to become a smoker.

How could they let their 2 yr old child bully them? I can't imagine what that child would be capable of doing to his parents when he grows older.

Funny thing about the anti-smoking movement. They say Indonesia has lax laws on cigarette advertising and promotions, which is why the average age of smokers has gone down. All over the world, they legislate a total ad ban, yet still allow the sales of the product. Since the health warnings have been medically proven, e di dapat total ban on sales!

Eliminating ads and promos will not discourage smoking as long as cigarettes are sold in most retail outlets. If health officials and politicians are serious about putting a stop to the practice, then they should urge legislation to stop its sales.

Otherwise, they should just enjoy the Indonesian freak show.

Why the government can't ban smoking and other vices? One word: Tax.

They're getting billions in taxes from sales of alcohol and tobacco. That's where the problem lies. All they can promise anti-smoker groups is to "regulate" its advertising and putting those pathetic health warnings on the boxes. Yes, they know it's bad for the health. But because of the financial motivation, they're turning a blind eye on the issue.
