Kung normal employee lang, I guess it would be better to go to developed countries and employ yourself, mas maigi kung maisasama ang family, and then doon mag-ipon. Once na naka-ipon come back in Phil and relax. Sometimes we have to think the future of our kids.

    Exactly!

most of us pinoys have plans of going back.save the dollars, invest in real estate in pinas and when its time to collect for pension /social security dyan na tayo sa pinas.the disadvantage here when you get old, walang magaalaga sayo coz everyone in your household are working kaya saan ka babagsak?sa home for the aged or convalescent homes. where in pinas you can afford a private nurse, a maid and a driver, dba?

Puwede na ba ang 5 years sa US? 5 years lang plano ko eh. As in ipon, basic necessities, walang luxury, (except maybe getting the Beetle fixed up hehe).

tama si speedy...'home is where your heart is' mapa-pinas, US, UK, NZ, HK, ako masaya ako basta kasama ko ang pamilya ko.....

I just want to get my children an option when they grow up, having an option to work in other country where they can without much hassle....unlike kung mag-stay kami dyan sa pinas they will dont have much option, habang tumatagal eh humihirap kumuha ng visa dyan papunta sa ibang bansa because of our country's status....we are not rich as Henry SY or Lucio Tan or the Ayalas...we have to work to make a living... and making sacrifice by being away with my relatives for my child's sake I think are one good gift that I give to them when I'm gone.

Besides, I can always come back to the Philippines and go to other countries as well....If we just stay in PI its quite hard to go out to another place to work or play...

and one more thing, the way our country is doing things, I dont see our economy will be like HK or Singapore or even Malysia in the next 20 or so yrs....

    just my opinion....

To migrate is to settle in a foreign place till death. No way! Just get some money and come back. Spend in the Phil. ng makatulong ka pa sa Pinas...

    1) If ur not doing well financially, married or not, get out and work hard abroad! kayod kalabaw ka for a year, comeback w/ P1/2M or continue para mabuo P1M. then start a small busness w/ ur family then u'll b better. konting sacrifice para sa luv ones.

2)Actually depende sa pangarap mo. small business, hse&lot, cars, etc so 1,2..5..10 yrs. and EVEN IF U'VE GOT THE RESIDENT I.D WHEREVER COUNTRY U R N, U WOULD ALWAYS BE A SECOND CLASS CITIZEN. hirap pa sa ibang lugar dyan grabe ang dating ng culture shock.

3)been away for 18yrs (mga tol, may buhok pa ko ha at pwede pa!) and I'm coming back soon. kasi masarap sa Pinas pag may pera ka! kahit nga nakasinelas ka sa mall may respeto pa rin ang mga pinoy sa customer.

4)Crime is everywhere... nasa diskarte mo ang precautions. if ur a showoff then ur an easy target. So be discrete and be humble... at least try, mahirap gawin yan pag marame ka ng pera...

5)bakit ba maraming foreigner ngayon dyan? coz' they can get a lot of fun from the currency they bring in than in any other place. sila pa nga itong nag-ma-migrate dyan sa atin!

Use ur head not ur heart when u r abroad working...
(work hard pa-api ng konti ganyan talaga bida nagpapabugbog muna)

Use ur heart not ur head when u got enough money...
(balik ka sa motherland, there's no place like HOME)

hmmm...dun sa 4.) kasi, me kilala auntie ko, ubod ng yaman, pero they lived a very humble life -- as in parang middle income famiily lang, small house in a class C-D municipality, one very old car...ni katulong wala! one day someone called them up demanding millions or me masamang mangyayari sa kanila.

how did they find out? probably an insider who has access to the bank account info.

sa point 5.), yes, totoo yan, pero tingin ko it's more because of the 53:1 peso-dollar exchange rate. biro mo, you could be middle income in the states, pagdating mo dito e virtual hari ka na B)

...pero i do agree with you, it would be nice to retire here -- just not in manila B) cebu or negros perhaps B)

I have been thinking of living in another country for quite some time now. If given the chance i will move out to another country but I must bring my family with me. Sila naman kasi ang number one reason why i would want to migrate. I can say that i am doing good in my business but I am afraid of what the future will hold for my daughter. Ngayon pa lang parang dami nanag problem ng bansa natin and I do not see any change happening 5-10 years from now. But i do not have plan of getting old sa ibang bansa, uuwi din ako pag nakaipon at settled na ang anak ko. I will do it for my family's sake and not for my personal gain.

I still would like to give this country a chance but I don't blame people who would want to migrate. Sigurado ako na if we get hold of the riches of all politician in our country, sobra pang pambayad sa utang ng bansa.

seriously....i have a chance to have a residency here in AU..but ewan ko ayaw ko eh..heheehe uuwi talga ako ng pinas..and kung masasabi mong financially stable ka sa pinas....dyan ka na lang...masaya pa...

5yrs straight na trabaho sa abroad is enough for me

5 yrs in abroad(let say dun mo gagastusin yung dolyar)
    1. car mo utang
    2. house and lot utang din

5 yrs sa abroad (sa pinas mo dinala yung dolyar)
    1. fully paid na yung kotse mo
    2. may house and lot ka na
    3. may ipon ka pa.. hehehe
    at higit sa lahat...masaya ka..

baliktad naman ako...i don't think i'll migrate outside the US, but i wouldn't mind living in another country for a while. i'm actually thinking about going for a transfer to the UK or maybe Latin America in the next year or two, stay for a few years, then come back home to the states.

    about migrating to the US:

it's pretty hard to stay for a few years and accumulate some good money to take home, unless you can stay with someone and pay no bills, or get a really high-paying job immediately. if you live on your own, those expenses really add up

iba talaga ang culture sa US, and it's not something pinoys are used to. but don't think that every city in the US looks like New Jack City. NY, LA, Cleveland, Miami and Kansas are so dissimilar they are almost like different countries

M54: I stayed in the U.S. also for 3 years. I got a working visa then. Kaya lang, I got turned off by a lot of Pinoys there. Everytime I meet a new Pinoy, ang unang tanong ay "Ano status mo?".

haha...that does happen. but if a girl asks you, baka gusto ka niya pakasalan

there are many good and decent pinoys here na hindi malaki ang ulo. but there are also a lot of people who for some reason think that God himself came down from heaven and blessed them for living in the states
