Kung sandalan or masagi ng ibang tao yung side mirror, no big deal.

But the fact of the matter is, not all street parkers cause inconvenience to other motorists.

Kung makitid street mo in your subdivision tapos wala namang halos dumadaan and all homeowners in that street agree that responsible street parking (no double parking, one side parking only, etc) is more beneficial than detrimental, edi magkasundo kayo na ok lang street parking. Sa VV and San Lo halos lahat nakastreet parking maski main road or not.

So I don't get why people are generalizing that all street parking is bad and anyone who has a car with no covered garage is an irresponsible asshole who only thinks of himself.

A street is a street. A garage is a garage. Although people park on the sidewalk of a street, the street is never a garage.

In my folks place, no overnight street parking is allowed. They will put a ticket in your car and if you dont pay the fine, the rfid sticker will be deactivated after awhile and you cant enter the subdivision.

Here now in our subdivision, nagkaron ng road rehabilitation work sabay rin ang sidewalk/drainage rehabilitation work.

I have a friend who lives in Manila; panay gasgas and tama na yung kotse niya dahil sa street parking.

Would you buy a car when your only garage is the street?

There's always the possibility I may spend some time there before my time comes. So, I think about how will I travel around. If I do buy a vehicle, it'll probably be an old beater car that has an air conditioner. I probably wouldn't care about scratches, dings, or dents. Hell. I don't even care much about those here. But, a garage is a must. I'm still concerned about thieves who might steal anything metal (or electronics) from my car.

A more practical thought would be not to bother with a car at all because there's so many air-conditioned public transportation. How long will it be before I break even?
