And who knows that US is only capable of what they say in the news?!

So, same thing goes with the US firepower...

who will know what US is capable of? no country will know the true power of US until one declares war on them. hindi natin alam kung anong weapon meron ang US until they really use them.

    IMHO no, it won't happen.

There's no country right now, not even 20 years from now who will be capable of waging an invasion like what Hitler did, not even the US.

Maybe there will be a lot of regional conflicts, but it will not escalate into a world war.

China will be powerful, yes, but so is Japan and South Korea, so should China starts considering invading its neighbors, China will definitely have to think hard, because Japan and Korea are military powers too. And China will not want to waste all that economic growth they've been enjoying for the past 10 years.

As for the middle east, IMO, the war there has been going on for ages. Israel will not start invading its neighbors unless they want to antagonize US, UK and the rest of NATO.

Eastern Europe - nothing will happen there with the way the political landscape there is developing.

Regional conflicts, especially in Europe or Middle East, most probably, but world war no.

    my 2 cents

In case of China, Japan being at war, China should worry most

In today's age, no nation will have a stomach to start a war. But they can get dragged into someone else's little war.

The Middle East is still a powder keg, with a short fuse. The only way it can be avoided if...

    1. The Israelis and Palestinians became friends, or
    2. We found a new source of fuel that makes oil and fossil fuels obsolete.

War is better on videogames or movies, and I pray it won't happen for real.

    Wow, nabuhay ulit ang thread...

Nakakalungkot naman kung dumating ang WW3, with the nuclear technology that most superpowers have right now, that might cause the extinction of the human race.

So if that happens I guess ang matitira lang sa earth e mga cockroaches, dahil ilang extinction-level events na ang nilagpasan nila from the time of the dinosaurs...

the sleeping giant is up and about. its ravenous economy will only push it even more to annexing resource rich countries. right now, diplomacy prevails, pushing friendly countries money (african countries with oil, in general) for needed raw materials.

that push will turn into shove, like what happened with the land of the rising sun.

the yellow giant from the western pacific is readying its armies again for a confrontation with the sleeping giant.

the stars and stripes is waning. its economy is on a downfall, and its armies are stretched ever more. it wants to impose its will again all over the world. but defeats and internal dissent will weaken it even more.

the bear once again is imposing its will on the east of the western world, awash with money by opening its economy. will it turn its back and show its true colors?

the bearers of the crescent and the sword are consolidating against the "fighters of freedom". It will not tolerate the encroachment of the superpowers and it will assert its sovereignty. The western world will feel the wrath of the curved sword.

honestly, its not really possible. USA is having a hard time to conduct two wars simultaneously. no country is capable of conducting a war throughout the globe, it would be very very very expensive and not economically feasible. nukes could kill cities not countries. if one country would start, they wont get far since resources are very scarce and countries that are not affected would not join the war. what started the two world wars are the current sentiment of that time. the nazi thing and etc are just the catalysts not the underlying reason behind the war.

    This is OT.

But, I'm more concerned about being hit by an asteroid than WW3. The odds of an asteroid hitting the earth is 20,000 to 1 which is a pretty high percentage.

The Earth's been hit many times which may account for many mass extinctions during Earth's history.

This 1-mile diameter impact crater's pretty small, caused by a 150ft asteroid. It's Meteor Crater and it's only 4 hours from our house.

Should a bigger asteroid hit the earth, this may be the result. Say your prayers:

WW3..... I think most people have enough common sense to not go over the brink.

"Sorry" for reviving this old thread. Nag-uusap tayo tungkol kay Nostradamus, but I don't think I couldn't put it over there. Dito na lang.

If ever na magkaroon ng war malamang mangyayari ito late next year or 2009.
why? Dahil ang eto ang perfect time na hinihintay ng Taiwan. I expect na they will declare independence right before the Summer games sa China.

(rumors lang to pero nakwento ng dad ng pinsan ko na may Patriot and Arrow daw Pinas so safe daw tayo sa nukes)
