That's the scary part. All it takes is a push of button. Once na mayroon ng gumamit ng nuclear bomb, nuclear holocaust na ang mangyayari.

I doubt if we are even worth that much to a country like the U.S., we are just small fry, in other words we are expendable.

I read in Australia na nag-experiment sila ng teleporation. I believe they
    successfully teleported a laser beam.

Team leader Dr Ping Koy Lam says it involved creating a laser beam, its disembodiment and the recreation of the original beam in a different location

"At the moment physicists are still puzzling over how to actually do it with a solid material, so we have to start with an atom," he said
Imagine the possibilities. If they continue and successfully transfer a solid material. d na kelangan ng fedex or shipping hehehe. It will diminish our
dependence on oil, therefore, less likely to have WW3. Dont u think?

    Jan sila wag magkakamali...

The US still has boomers (ICMB equipped nuke subs) on active patrol. Some are equipped with up to 24 Polaris missiles with 8 warheads each (192 targets in total). That is just one SSBN!!!

China still does not have sufficient ICBMs that will penetrate to US cities.

Plus, Russia & India are close US allies - and pose a danger to China also.

tagal ko na hinihintay yan threat ng China over Taiwan na yan.
ngaun nga buong mundo Made in China d tulad ng dati Made in Taiwan.
I dont think the US will interfere with the takeover, coz the US
stands to lose more in China in terms of investment than Taiwan at present.

Taiwan is becoming more on more expendable these days.

who will know what china is capable of? no country will know the true power of china until one declares war on them. hindi natin alam kung anong weapon meron ang china until they really use them. before the gulf wars back in the early 90s, alam ba natin na meron ng mga tomahawk and patriot anti-missile missiles ang US?

Just a quick peek at their weapons shopping list from Russia will give you a hint. What they are getting are just the high-end aircrafts. But that is all useless (for offense) without the means of being able to deploy those outside of China (through a naval fleet). It seems that the Russians are still holding an ace up their sleeve after all.

Btw, the US is getting a lot of valuable practice / experience for their Armed Forces. If you haven't noticed, at almost all conflict areas the US is there (from NATO, Middle East, Africa, Korea, etc). Heck, they even started their own mini-wars (Afghanistan & Iraq).

About those Patriot & Tomahawk missiles... they were already around a long time before the Gulf War (80s). The Patriots replaced the gargantuan (but unused - thankfully) Nike-Hercules SAMs of the 60s & 70s.

these aircrafts will be very useful when they shall decide to take taiwan by force.

and as i've posted before, how will you really know what weapons they have or are developing. we will come to know them only when they actually used it.

is this good or bad? the US armed forces gaining experience by butting in the conflicts of other indenpendent nations?

i remembered reading from Asiaweek during the gulf war that it was the first time those weapons were used in a real war.

Actually, before there were conflicts...US Armed Forces have been continously conducting military exercises between allied nations. i.e. Tandem Thrust, Foal Eagle

Military exercises are usually performed four times a year.

All of these military exercises are unheard of (with the exception of the amphibious group landing in Cavite) through the use of...

without the means of being able to deploy those outside of China (through a naval fleet).
    the US Naval Fleet.

That makes me agree with mazdamazda regarding the use of naval fleet.

Let me share my experience with Taiwan and China conflict.

On our way back from conducting multiple military exercises in Western Pacific region, the C.O. announced that we are turning back to scold China and N. Korea because of their missile testing over Taiwan airspace. As soon as the Carrier's presence was seen in Yellow Sea, China and N. Korea stopped playing with their missles, phakers...bring it on.

Our stay at sea was extended for a week, we're finally headed back to Naval Base in Japan. We all said to ourselves "p*#$$ inang China and N. Korea yan, uumpisahan manakot wala naman palang gagawin amf! nasayang lang ang isang linggo mga ayuf!"

    N. Korea has the farthest range in terms of missile, it can reach Hawaii. The only time that they will stop developing long range missiles is if the US gives them aid. Wow, responsibilidad pa pala ng US ang N. Korea and yet, US are taking the blame on interfering with conflicts around the world.

edit: oh yeah, US agreed to give N. Korea the aid they wanted and among other things.

actually yan din sir *mazdamazda ang naiisip, gaano kalakas ang china ngaun? unlike in WW2, mas mabilis pa daw nahulog ang China sa Japanese hands kaysa sa Phils. makes me proud of our ancestors . hehehe
