    when you're called kuya/ate that means you don't look old

    maoffend ka pag tinawag ka lolo/lola or manong/manang

    My Korean friends would say "kuya" in that same annoying tone.

    Personally I've never used those to address other people, unless they're relatives (and officially referred to in your family as Ate or Kuya)...

    I'd use Sir, Miss, or Boss most of the time...

    kasi manong/manang sounds to me mas bagay for senior people
