Why are bras designed to open/closed from the back? Isn't it much easier to have the latch or hooks located at the front for better access and easier to see?

to make it stronger structurally.
the latch is a weak link in the support system.
have you ever imagined bras with the open/close snap on the side? mas madadalian sila magtanggal nun.
it's a much safer in case of accidental opening - di agad "bubulaga" unlike kung sa harap :shocked2::twak::taunt:
My guess would be twofold: Aesthetics and Ergonomics.
Aesthetics is self-explanatory... less bulge in the area between the cups makes it more sleek (and ***y).
Ergonomics because, you cannot put adjustable latches/hooks up front as this would change the distance between the cups. The said distance should remain constant to maintain the proper breast profile (just made that up) even if the wearer needs to readjust the bra's tightness for proper fit.
