March 23rd, 2007 11:36 AM #1I had just bought a new PC from a certain computer store in GH. I brought in my "old" PC para ilipat nila yung info sa hard drive sa new PC. Pagkauwi, ayaw na mag-on ng old PC ko. Ibinalik namin the following day, and sabi nila sira na daw yung video card! I just got that video card nine (9) months ago, plus it was working just fine nung dinala namin sa kanila.
I'm just wondering, may responsibility ba sila sa video card?
I have this gut feeling na linoloko na kami ng computer shop na 'to, palibhasa sa kanila na kami dumederetso everytime we need something.
PS: Yung new PC din na binili namin, it took a whole week to get it running. Guess what was the reason? Yung new video card naman na sa kanila namin binili.

were you able to test your old unit before leaving your suking PC shop? unless mapapatunayan mo na nasira yung card sa shop nila at hindi during transit from GH to your place, hindi ka nila i-eentertain. i hope your card still comes with a valid shop warranty.
time to look for a different PC shop...or learn to do-it-yourself.

try to reseat your video card. If it still doesn't work then its time to get a warranty replacement.
This is tricky, if the computer shop doesn't budge then try my suggestion.
Finally learn to DIY, get a DVD burner to backup your files or an extra hard drive, the peace of mind and safety net it gives will be worth every penny you'll spend.

time to move to another shop.
mukhang nangloloko yan.
time na din to learn more about the computer.

March 23rd, 2007 01:18 PM #7Hindi ba normally 1 year warranty ang PC parts? If its only 9 months old and still under warranty then tell them so.
Still the easiest way will be to DIY. Most PC problems are easily fixed by DIY.

unfortunately, andaming pc shops ngayon na ginagawang 6 months na lang ang warranty period. they earn so much more in the process kasi sa major pc parts distributors, 1-3 years ang RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization).
if the item was returned outside of the shop warranty period but within the distro's RMA period, the distro almost automatically gives a replacement for the busted item - which the shop can repackage as a new unit if not bolted into "new" pc package deals.
better check with your favorite pc shop's warranty guidelines para sigurado na you at least get 1 year warranty for the stuff you buy.

Exacto! Hindi na daw umiikot yung fan, kaya kailangan ko na daw bumili ng replacement. Buti na lang hindi ako bumili. When I called their shop up kanina and I sounded pissed, biglang sabi, "ah sige sir, gagawan nalang namin ng paraan", ayun ngayon gumagana na.
The name of the shop is Standard Computer.
Pangit ang fit ng taiwan replacement part. Medyo off ang clearances. Better bumili ka na lang ng...
