Came from MIAS. Underwhelming as usual. Hard to appreciate the cars when there are sales agents badgering you and pseudo-photographers ogling and photographing the car show girls.
The Santa Fe looks nice, feels premium inside already. Getting close to the quality of Mazda's Germanic interior. Display was a 5-seater though. If the rumors are true that this will sell for 2.5M+, it will most likely flop as it's still not at the level of the Explorer when it comes to gravitas.
The Kona is more akin to a CX3 than an Ecosport. Cramped, but upscale. Interior was even better than the Tucson's. I doubt if they will price it competitively.
The Ioniq was quite unique. Basically a smaller but more expensive and refined Elantra. I wonder if hybrids will ever fly when people could just go for a diesel.
Mitsu booth had 4 Xpanders and nothing else.
The new convertible Mustang is eye-catching, but looks way too big. It fits California very well, but probably not tight, urban Manila. I like the hardtop more. New Expedition was also humongous.
New X3 had a very modern interior, though still not as spacious as a CRV or even a Forester. The grille has gotten too big I think. Personally the previous X3 looks better.
Got bored before I could check out the new Jaguar CUV. But it did look better-proportioned than the small Macan.
Honestly, I was more impressed with what I saw in Shang Makati earlier:
I thought the Ghost was huge but it was just like a 7-Series. It's the Phantom that was SO MASSIVE. It looked like a ship compared to the Ghost and the Fortuner behind it.
