    They're 2 different machines bro.

When it comes to power, halos pareho lang, but sa gearing nagkakatalo. The Mazda only has 4 gears, pero sakto siya for my Tanay driving kasi second gear has lots of power from 80-120 kph. However, pag nagredline na second gear tapos nagshift sa 3rd, ang haba ng gear so ang baba na naman ng rpm, so wala na naman sa powerband. Ganun din pag below 60 kph, medyo alanganin for first gear but too slow for second gear so hirap maggenerate ng power. Yan talaga disadvantage pag 4AT.

Sa Altis naman, saktong sakto yung gear ratios so kahit smaller engine and less horsepower, maganda acceleration. There's a bit of a dead spot right after shifting from 2nd to 3rd at 80 kph pero not as bad as the Mazda. Advantage talaga yung 6MT pag spirited driving.

In terms of handling, the Mazda has much better steering feel, but when it comes to grip in corners, pareho naman silang makapit. Advantage lang ng Mazda is the stiffer suspension so less body roll during corners - this is particularly evident pag S-curves na sunod sunod kasi yung Altis mararamdaman mo talaga nagshishift yung weight as you turn, while the Mazda is more planted. Lastly, the Altis has better brakes kahit drums ang likod.

Ultimately, the Altis is slightly faster because of its manual transmission, pero the difference is so small na depende pa rin talaga sa driver. Basta ako I enjoy driving both. 😄
