    It never occurred to me to put nails on the road that may stick out at front of our house.

    countersink the heads to well-below the business surface, to protect the tyre surfaces rolling over them for damage. screws or bolts will probably offer better resistance against the pulling power of rebound.
    countersinking also protects the heads from wearing out when the cars' tyres rub against them as they pass over.

    of course,
    there's little we can do against wilful destruction of the structures by other entities... except make it more difficult for them.

    a concrete hump is probably the most durable solution.

    either way, check with authorities first, if the addition of hump is illegal.

    We were the last street sa phase namin to have concrete humps, so we became the go to street of public and private vehicles. Some vehicles will he a bit out of way just to avoid humps on other street.

    Pero ngayon may concrete humps na. But we still use the tire humps in front of our house. They stopped moving it since hindi na sila makaka harurot dire diretso.

    problem with tyre humps,
    kawawa the bicycles who happen to miss seeing them and thus fail in avoiding them.
