We all have our personal luxuries. Even the thriftiest person I know has something that he or she is ready to spend on.

What are your indulgences in life? How often do you give in and how much does it cost you? Gourmet coffee? Spa or Massage? Vacation? Designer watch/clothes/shoes?

    Tell us about it.

Food because I don't believe in scrimping on food

Salon treatments. I have it done once or twice a year and I don't hesitate spending on quality hair treatments. I don't wanna risk going for cheaper products and end up bald after

Nails. I have it done at least once a month, I could do the cleaning myself but I choose to go to the salon because it helps me feel relaxed and pampered. I also collect polish and nail art stuff and it's my only outlet for creativity

Well, I have my own indulgences but I'm generally frugal by nature.

Audio and Music - my total expenditures is probably topping the price of an Accent in a span of 3 years. 1/3 of that comes from car audio, 1/3 is from home audio, and 1/3 is my head-fi. Headphones costing $1000 above? I have. Not only one.. but two flagships.

Computers - well, I've been constructing my rigs personally since I was young after all. Inflation-adjusted, each computer would cost around 80-100k+ nowadays. For example, I spent 13k for a 80GB SSD back in 2008 and I can justify purchasing a 15k computer casing by saying it's a personal investment.

Food - this... depends. Sometimes my frugal nature kicks in and all you see is me turbo'ing some self-marinated chicken breast fillets para total gastos ko around >Php100 lang per meal (that's like 500g of chicken lol). At times, the foodie in me pops up out of the blue and says. "Tara, let's go to Antonio's sa Tagaytay today!" (which actually happened on three separate occasions na) . I usually don't scrimp out on food.

Tea - I'm one of those persons who require myself a daily tea consumption. It can be cheap or it can be expensive.. all I require is that of freshly brewed status.

Books and Newspapers - is something I really enjoy but cut back lately thanks to the advent of pirated eBooks and eMagazines. I've also have a personal subscription to the Asian WSJ for my financial and worldly news. Isa lang metric ko dyan: Do I want it? I will have it. Pero kung wala, I won't bother buying one just for the sake of reading. My eMagazine collection has probably paid back my Nexus 7 twice-fold by now in terms of lost revenues sa mga publishers. I read.. a LOT.

Internet Speed - is life for a heavy downloader like me. Basta once PLDT covers our area with its fiber network, hell.. I'm subscribing at the first notice. My user statistics in uT0rrent shows roughly 200GB+ transferred in 31 days.. and tat I'm one-helluvah leecher too.

My best and most expensive indulgence would probably be time. Such as spending the entire day just reading while listening to music and having some M&Ms at hand.

Still growing up, it's obviously I have a penchant for cars. I'll just see where it takes me. As for designer watches, I can appreciate them -- handicraft and all. But it's not something I'll purchase. Given Php8m to buy an uber expensive watch or a speaker, I'll go for the speakers. As for clothes, Uniqlo's taking my wardrobe spotlight recently. I also juggle between Zara and Calvin Klein at times (CKJ is more worth it in terms of general fabric costs). Though my regular getup is simply a black cotton undershirt slash shirt (well, di naman kita utong) which fits my body well.. and which has been with me since 2011. I got like.. 14 of those

I love gadgets but I choose which would be the best value purchase for me. Currently I am enjoying my ultrabook (ASUS Zenbook UX32VD) as my primary computer including for gaming. And it was an expensive purchase too, it was over P60K when I bought it.

Shoes sa akin, dyan ako mahilig talaga. Pero I also buy stuff na naka-sale na. Having a big feet is a bonus since the usual US size 12 ang naka-sale kasi bihira mabili.

    Being on-line as well.

Just from my username, need I say more? I always remember the time I bought a Php15k Creative music player just to get the 4GB CF microdrive to use with my Php130k DSLR. Now you could buy an equivalent 16GB CF (or SD) for almost 1/15th the price. LOL! An equivalent DSLR might be 1/4th the price I paid before. My Philips CRT TV I'm still using now was bought for P50k 2nd hand. So basically my indulgences were mostly with electronic (audio/ video/ photo/ computers) gears. But otherwise, I am also a very frugal person being a promdi at heart.
