    If your parents are giving you a lot and all you have to do is pay for construction then you have the luxury of time on your side. Construction materials and labor costs roughly track to the inflation rate. You are lucky. At least you dont have to worry about the land purchase (which in many cases is the much larger cost).

    On the other hand, I wasnt given any property by my parents (even though they have lots and lots of it). It made me hungrier and more determined. Turned out for the best as i am my own man and not indebted to anyone.

    Probably was their strategy all along.

    Yes, a residential lot is probably the best gift parents can give their kids. It takes off a very, very big burden for the kid in his 20s.

    All of my savings right now are directed to that right now... [emoji24]
